    Sammanfattning : The aim was to investigate associations of fitness and types and levels of physical activity with subsequent risk of cardiovascular disease.Four large-scale longitudinal cohort studies were used.     Sammanfattning : Aims: The overall purpose of this thesis was to increase knowledge about physical performance and activity in the later stage post-stroke by measuring walking performance in different environments coupled to muscle strength, cardiorespiratory fitness evaluation and self-reported physical activity. Methods: The studies reported in the thesis included a total of 83 subjects with prior stroke living in the community and 144 clinically healthy subjects from the same area. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Dementia and cognitive impairment are leading causes of disability in older people (≥ 65 years) and gait speed decline seem to be an early indicator of these conditions, sometimes preceding clinical symptoms.     Sammanfattning : In this work, the solubility of butyl paraben in 7 pure solvents and in 5 different ethanol-water mixtures has been determined from 1 ˚C to 50 ˚C. The solubility of ethyl paraben and propyl paraben in various solvents has been determined at 10 ˚C. LÄS MER
