  1. 11. Wastewater treatment and biomass generation by Nordic microalgae : growth in subarctic climate and microbial interactions

    Författare :Lorenza Ferro; Christiane Funk; Francesco Gentili; Luísa Gouveia; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Microalgae; Wastewater; Nitrogen; Phosphate; Biomass; Lipids; Subarctic Climate; Light; Temperature; Bacteria; Photoautotrophy; Heterotrophy; Mixotrophy; HRAP; Metabarcoding; Microbial Communities; Alpha-diversity; Environmental Factors; Biochemistry; biokemi; mikrobiologi; Microbiology;

    Sammanfattning : Nordic native microalgal strains were isolated, genetically classified and tested for their ability to grow in municipal wastewater. Eight of the isolated strains could efficiently remove nitrogen and phosphate in less than two weeks. Two of these strains, Coelastrella sp. LÄS MER

  2. 12. The HDZip Class I Transcription Factors in Arabidopsis thaliana : Characterisation of HDZip Genes Involved in the Mediation of Environmental Signals

    Författare :Eva Henriksson; Peter Engström; Julio Salinas; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Plant physiology; Växtfysiologi; Plant physiology; Växtfysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Homeodomain leucine zipper (HDZip) proteins constitute a large family of transcription factors characterised by the presence of a DNA-binding homeodomain and an adjacent leucine zipper motif, which mediates protein-dimer formation. The HDZip genes of Arabidopsis have been divided into four classes, HDZip I-IV. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Analysis of Two Transcriptional Regulators that Affect Meristem Function : Arabidopsis thaliana TERMINAL FLOWER2 and Picea abies APETELA2

    Författare :Lars Nilsson; Annika Sundås Larsson; Peter Engström; Thomas Laux; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Developmental biology; Arabidopsis thaliana; Picea abies; gene regulation; development; meristem; Utvecklingsbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : The aerial plant body is derived from undifferentiated cells in the shoot apical meristem that in Arabidopsis thaliana is active throughout the plant life cycle. Upon transition to flowering the activity of the meristem is altered and the meristem starts to produce secondary inflorescences and floral meristems instead of leaves. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Genetic Control of Annual Growth Rhythm in the Conifer Norway Spruce (Picea Abies L. Karst)

    Författare :Anna Karlgren; Ulf Lagercrantz; Niclas Gyllenstrand; Janice Cooke; Uppsala universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Norway spruce (Picea abies L. Karst) is a conifer belonging to the group gymnosperms and is an ecologically and economically important species in several parts of Europe. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Light environments for dairy cows : impact of light intensity, spectrum and uniformity

    Författare :Sofia Lindkvist; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Light can be used as a management tool to increase milk yield in dairy cows and improve the working conditions for barn staff. It is known that a long day photoperiod, with 16 hours of light and 8 hours of darkness, can increase milk yield in an ongoing lactation. LÄS MER
