16. Fabricating designed fullerene nanostructures for functional electronic devices
Sammanfattning : A long-term goal within the field of organic electronics has been to developflexible and functional devices, which can be processed and patterned withlow-cost and energy-efficient solution-based methods. This thesis presents anumber of functional paths towards the attainment of this goal via thedevelopment and demonstration of novel fabrication and patterningmethods involving the important organic-semiconductor family termedfullerenes. 17. Photochemical properties of phytochrome and firefly luciferase chromophores: A theoretical study
Sammanfattning : This licentiate thesis presents computational chemistry studies on photochemical properties of phytochrome and firefly luciferase chromophores.Phytochromes are bilin-containing proteins that based on the ambient light environment regulate a number of physiological and developmental processes in bacteria, cyanobacteria, fungi and plants. 19. Capturing Air Pollutants : Photochemical Adsorption and Degradation of SO2, NO2 and CO2 on Titanium Dioxide
Sammanfattning : Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is a material with many useful properties. It is used most widely as a pigment in white paint, although in technological research it is better known for its ability to catalyze chemical reactions during light absorption. LÄS MER
20. Structure-Function Relationships in RuII Complexes with Unconventional Ligands: Photophysical and Photochemical Studies
Sammanfattning : The rich photophysics, photochemistry and electrochemistry of RuII complexes have attracted intense research interest in widely disparate fields. A large portion of the studied and applied complexes are derived from the archetypical [Ru(bpy)3]2+ (bpy is 2,2’-bipyridine), which absorbs in the visible region, displays a long lived (~1 μs), emissive metal-to-ligand charge transfer state, and shows reversible electrochemistry in both the ground and excited state.
