31. Biomass, community structure and phosphorus uptake of ectomycorrhizal fungi in response to phosphorus limitation and nitrogen deposition
Sammanfattning : High levels of nitrogen (N) deposition might result in a transition from N to phosphorus (P) limitation in high latitude forests. Thiscould have fundamental consequences for forest production, nutrient acquisition and nutrient leaching. LÄS MER
32. Biodiversity and ecosystem functioning in created agricultural wetlands
Sammanfattning : This doctoral dissertation was produced in a cooperation between Halmstad University (Wetland Research Centre, School of Business and Engineering) and Lund University (Limnology & Marine Biology, Department of Ecology).Abstract . LÄS MER
33. Engineered Wetlands and Reactive Bed Filters for Treatment of Landfill Leachate
Sammanfattning : The main objectives of this study were to investigate (i) anovel wetland treatment technology and (ii) selected bed filtermedia for the removal of contaminants from landfill leachate. Areview of the literature concerning experiences of the use ofconstructed wetlands (CW) for the removal of nitrogen fromlandfill leachate, showed that at least three groups oftreatment systems are in practice: sub-surface flow wetlands, hybrid systems (a combination of vertical and horizontal flowwetlands) and, compact constructed wetland (CCW). 34. The Effect of Snow on Plants and Their Interactions with Herbivores
Sammanfattning : The ongoing climate changes are predicted to accelerate fast in arctic regions with increases in both temperatures and precipitation. Although the duration of snow cover is generally expected to decrease in the future, snow depth may paradoxically increase in those areas where a large amount of the elevated precipitation will fall as snow. 35. A passage to wastewater nutrient recovery units : Microalgal-Bacterial bioreactors
Sammanfattning : In recent years, the microalgal–bacterial process has been considered to be a very attractive engineering solution for wastewater treatment. However, it has not been widely studied in the context of conventional wastewater treatment design under Swedish conditions. LÄS MER
