Sammanfattning : In processes of urban infrastructural reconfiguration, there is a counterproductive tension between tendencies of de-monopolisation and market liberalisation, on the one hand, and ambitions for sustainable urban development, drawing on Keynesian reformism and ecological modernisation, on the other. In this thesis, the aim is to overcome this tension and to facilitate a concrete operationalisation of the notion &'sustainable urban development' within concrete and localised processes of planning, design, decision-making and implementation. 4. "Det romantiska tidehvarfvet" : De svenska romantikernas medeltidsuppfattning
Sammanfattning : The dissertation deals with the view of the Middle Ages in the Swedish Romantic Movement in the first half of the 19th century. A presentation is given of the treatment of the Middle Ages in the historical and fictional works of the Romantics, and it is shown how this treatment was influenced by both their philosophical outlook and their view of contemporary morality and politics. Sammanfattning : The purpose of this study is to consider how Swedish governmental foreign aid policy could bedirected with the help of an ethical basis for judgement that is constructed here, and that answersthe question of what global moral obligations human beings have to assist one other. Theconstruction of the basis for judgement takes its starting point in two empirical questions: first,what are the main characteristics of Swedish governmental aid policy, and secondly, what opinions are expressed in the public debate about the direction of this policy.
