11. Failure of thinwalled structures under impact loading
Sammanfattning : Thinwalled structures are widely used for different applications, e.g. maritime structures, vehicles, off-shore structures, aircraft fuselage, ship panels etc., and due to their applicationthey might be exposed to high strain rate loads as blast loads. LÄS MER
12. Numerical Modeling of Soot and NOx Formation in Non-Stationary Diesel Flames with Complex Chemistry
Sammanfattning : A complex chemistry model of reduced size (65 species and 268 reactions) derived on the basis of n-heptane auto-ignition kinetics, small hydrocarbon oxidation chemistry, polyaromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) and NOx formation kinetics together with a phenomenological soot model has been implemented in the KIVA code for multidimensional Diesel spray combustion simulations. An EDC (Eddy Dissipation Concept) based partially stirred reactor model is used to handle the turbulence-chemistry interaction. LÄS MER
13. Särimner : a computer model for diabetes education
Sammanfattning : In diabetes mellitus pancreas fails to produce insulin enough to maintain tissue utilisation of blood glucose. To maintain a normalised metabolism many diabetic patients have to provide insulin from injections or an infusion pump. The disease affects some percent of western population. LÄS MER
14. Modelling and experimental testing of truck tyre rolling resistance
Sammanfattning : Truck transport offers a versatile way to ship goods in regional, long haulage and urban applications. However, the heavy truck sector accounts for 6 % of total greenhouse gas emissions in the European Union. Therefore, there is a need for a substantial reduction of these emissions to secure the sustainability of Earth for future generations. LÄS MER
15. Modelling the time-dependent, damage and fracture mechanical properties of load-bearing soft biological tissues
Sammanfattning : Load-carrying soft biological tissues exhibit a wide range of complex time-dependent, damage, and fracture mechanical properties. An effective comprehension of such behaviour is advantageous in characterising tolerance to injury and can provide valuable insights regarding the incidence and progression of certain diseases.
