17. SIMD Architectures for Radar Signal Processing and Artificial Neural Networks
Sammanfattning : The thesis is about computer architectures specially tuned to an application area. This means that the work spans the area from implementation technology via processor and computer system organization to the applications themselves. LÄS MER
18. Towards Automation of Non-Destructive Testing of Welds
Sammanfattning : All welding processes can give rise to defects that will weaken the joint and can lead to failure of the welded structure. Because of this, non-destructive testing (NDT) of welds have become increasingly important to ensure the structural integrity when the material becomes thinner and stronger and welds become smaller; all to reduce weight in order to save material and reduce emissions due to lighter constructions. 19. Elastic Wave Propagation in Anisotropic Media. Application to Ultrasonic NDT
Sammanfattning : The subject of this thesis is elastic wave propagation in anisotropic materials with application to ultrasonic nondestructive testing (NDT). The first part of the thesis is concerned with modeling of ultrasonic transducers and wave propagation in anisotropic materials in general. First, a scalar 2-D case is considered. LÄS MER
20. Anatomical and physiological aspects of anorectal dysfunction
Sammanfattning : Objective: To analyse the results of anal-sphincter repair; to examine the feasibility of motor latency measurements of the anal sphincter after magnetic sacral stimulation in healthy subjects, patients with a spinal cord injury and patients with faecal incontinence, using a new recording technique; to study, in the same 3 groups, the effects ofphasic magnetic sacral root stimulation on the anal sphincter and rectum; to describe normal, undisturbed anatomy of the anal canal and perianal structures in both men and nulliparous women using high-resolution phased array magnetic resonance imaging; to study pelvic floor movements in healthy volunteers of both sexes using a new instrument. Methods: Latencies were recorded with an intraanal, bipolar sponge electrode and an intrarectal ground electrode.
