  1. 1. Catanionic Surfactant Mixtures and Binary Systems of Modified Fatty Acid Surfactants. Phase Equilibria and Structure

    Författare :Malin Bydén Sjöbom; Fysikalisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; coacervation; asymmetry; bile salt; didodecyldimethylammonium bromide; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi; catanionic surfactant mixture; intermediate phase; a-methylsubstituted sodium carboxylate; dodecylpyridinium bromide; ionic surfactant; polarizing microscopy; FT-PGSE self-diffusion; 2H NMR; SAXS; liquid crystal; micelle; phase equilibria; phase diagram;

    Sammanfattning : Surfactant self-assembly is an important phenomenon that occurs in a number of processes in our everyday life. It is important to understand the forces and parameters that control and influence the self-assembly, as this knowledge can be used both in order to design surfactant systems with desired properties and for creating model systems, for example for biological processes. 2. 2. Adnominal Possession and Ditransitives

    Författare :Mikko Kupula; Cecilia Falk; Eva Hedin; Melita Stavrou; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANITIES; HUMANIORA; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Modern Greek; minimalism; adnominal possession; ditransitive constructions; possessor raising; applicative constructions; phase extension; event variable; dative; locative; clitics; Modern Greek language; Nygrekiska; nygrekiska; Modern Greek;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation presents the findings of an investigation of adnominal possession and ditransitives on the basis of data from Modern Greek. The general thesis of the dissertation is that possessive DPs constitute nominal counterparts to ditransitive constructions. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Gas phase reactions at elevated temperatures are versatile tools for material manufacturing and energy conversion. They are of great commercial interest, but they often entail hazardous impacts on the environment. There is consequently a pronounced need for the further develpment of processes utilising these types of reactions. LÄS MER

  4. 4. On Phase Transition and Percolation in the Beach Model

    Författare :Per Hallberg; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The beach model, which was introduced by Burton and Steif,has many features in common with the Ising model. We generalizesome results for the Ising model to the beach model, such asthe connection between phase transition and a certainpercolation event. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Electrostatic Interactions in Complex Liquids : A Thermodynamic Analysis Based on the Poisson-Boltzmann Equation and the Flexible Surface Model

    Författare :Ingemar Carlsson; Fysikalisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; AOT; AerosolOT; ionic surfactant; spontaneous curvature; bending modulus; bending energy; Helfrich curvature energy; fluid membrane; complex liquid; flexible surface model; micelle; counterion; Poisson-Boltzmann equation; cell model; L3 phase; sponge phas; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this study was to analyse physico-chemical properties of some complex liquids using the Poisson-Boltzmann (PB) cell model; to extend the theory to cover bilayer systems with complex global geometry; finally to apply this new extended model to such bilayer systems. The PB cell model provides a practical tool to examine counterion association and phase behaviour for structures of simple geometries; cylindrical and spherical. LÄS MER
