  1. 1. From Customer Satisfaction to Citizen Interaction : a cooperation model for community development based on Total Quality Management

    Författare :Maria Fredriksson; Bengt Klefsjö; Lars Carlsson; Johnny Lindström; Luleå tekniska universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Current problems with unemployment and the consequences of cut-down in the public sector need appropriate solutions, where private citizens perhaps take on more active roles than today, individually or in groups. The aim with this doctoral thesis is to contribute to one such solution, which is a cooperation model for societal development in local communities, based on Total Quality Management (TQM) and on the participation of many residents. 2. 2. Selected Topics in Continuum Percolation : Phase Transitions, Cover Times and Random Fractals

    Författare :Filipe Mussini; Erik I. Broman; Hermine Biermé; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Poisson point process; Percolation; Boolean model; Quasi-isometries; Cover times; Poisson cylinder process; Ellipsoid process; Phase transition; Random fractals; Mathematics; Matematik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of an introduction and three research papers. The subject is probability theory and in particular concerns the topics of percolation, cover times and random fractals.Paper I deals with the Poisson Boolean model in locally compact Polish metric spaces. 3. 3. Optical Transmission Systems Based on Phase-Sensitive Amplifiers

    Författare :Samuel L I Olsson; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; optical injection locking; fiber nonlinearities; optical fiber communication; fiber nonlinearity mitigation; four-wave mixing; fiber optic parametric amplification; low-noise amplification; phase-sensitive amplification; fibre optics;

    Sammanfattning : The capacity and reach of today's long-haul fiber optical communication systems is limited by amplifier noise and fiber nonlinearities. Conventional, phase-insensitiveamplifiers (PIAs), have a quantum limited noise figure (NF) of 3 dB at high gain, meaning that with a shot-noise limited input signal the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR)is degraded by at least 3 dB. 4. 4. Towards Practical Implementation of Phase-Sensitive Amplifier Based Transmission Systems

    Författare :Samuel L I Olsson; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; phase-sensitive amplification; four-wave mixing; nonlinear optical signal processing; optical injection locking; fiber nonlinearities; fiber optic parametric amplification;

    Sammanfattning : All commercially available optical amplifiers are so-called phase-insensitive amplifiers (PIAs) which degrade the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) through the amplification process. This kind of amplifier has a quantum limited noise figure (NF) of 3 dB. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Kvinnorörelsen och efterkrigsplaneringen : statsfeminism i svensk arbetsmarknadspolitik under och kort efter andra världskriget

    Författare :Nina Almgren; Lena Eskilsson; Ann-Katrin Hatje; Lisa Öberg; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :History; women s work; post-war planning; state feminism; women s movement; the Second World War; labour market policy; welfare state; gender; strategies; citizenship; formative phase; Historia; kvinnors arbete; efterkrigsplanering; statsfeminism; kvinnorörelsen; andra världskriget; arbetsmarknadspolitik; välfärdsstat; genus; strategier; medborgarskap; formativ period; History; historia;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis has analysed the relations among the women’s movement, the state and the labour market policy during and shortly after the Second World War and to what extent this period can be characterised as a formative phase as regards gender relations. The aim has been to study women’s strategic actions in order to influence the Swedish Government’s labour market policy in the period from 1939 to 1947. LÄS MER
