  1. 1. Specification of Resource Allocation Systems; a STEP towards a unified framework

    Författare :Petter Falkman; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Flexible manufacturing systems; supervisory control theory; supervis synthesis; specification; Resource allocation systems;

    Sammanfattning : In recent years growing demands on flexibility and ability to decrease time to market has made it increasingly important for engineering companies to find ways of making information exchange between product design and manufacturing systems design more efficient. A much shortened iteration cycle could be obtained ifinformation about product design solutions could be made instantly available for engineers involved in manufacturing systems design. LÄS MER

  2. 2. High Speed Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Lasers for Short Reach Communication

    Författare :Petter Westbergh; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; high speed modulation; GaAs; Semiconductor laser; InGaAs; vertical cavity surface emitting laser VCSEL ; laser dynamics; fabrication;

    Sammanfattning : The vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL) is a low cost light source with attractive performance characteristics such as low power consumption, high speed capabilities at low currents, and a circular output beam. These features have made the VCSEL an established component in digital communication networks, particularly in short reach optical data transmission applications where links consisting of GaAs-based 850nm VCSELs and multimode fiber have become the standard solution. 3. 3. Transition Metal-Mediated Selective Functionalizations of Bio-Derived Building Blocks

    Författare :Petter Dunås; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; phenols; Heck reaction; microbial arene oxidation; green chemistry; domino reactions; chirality transfer; palladium; metal carbonyl; azulenes; renewable resources; iron;

    Sammanfattning : In order to transition to a more sustainable chemical industry, it is necessary to replace the fossil starting materials that are largely used today with renewable ones. Starting materials available from abundant natural sources, or which can be efficiently produced via a biotransformation, are of high interest in this regard. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Lattice dynamics in perovskites for green energy applications: A theoretical perspective

    Författare :Petter Rosander; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; density func- tional theory; perovskites; defects; lattice dynamics; thermodynamic modelling; force constants; oxides;

    Sammanfattning : Electrolyzers and fuel cells are used in green energy applications, electrolyzers split water to produce hydrogen, which can then be used in fuel cells to produce energy. Oxide perovskites have shown favorable properties for applications in this area, e.g., as electrolyte and cathode material in fuel cells and electrolyzers. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Innovation in Complex Adaptive Systems

    Författare :Petter Törnberg; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Society; Transitions; Complexity; Innovation Society; Wicked Systems; Technical change; EvoDevo; Innovation; Exaptive Bootstrapping; Generative Entrenchment; Niche Construction Theory;

    Sammanfattning : Our society is increasingly beset by a range of interrelated crises - with the financial crisis, the energy crisis, and the global warming crisis as leading examples - forming a "meta-crisis" with its roots in processes deeply entrenched in society (Lane et al., 2011), and emanating from large-scale complex adaptive systems so strongly interlinked that they are hard to even define and delimit.
