    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this study is to investigate the social and cultural contexts of 1QS (Serek ha-Yahad) by means of a textual study. The analysis of the text is performed in a synchronic perspective. This means that lexical choices, grammatical forms, references, topics, themes, and intertextuality are analyzed text-internally.     Sammanfattning : The subject of this dissertation is the art of the Polish theatre director, set designer, and visual artist Tadeusz Kantor (1915–1990) and its inherent width of artistic expressions. The aim is to contribute with new interpretations that add to previous research that primarily has studied the body of work from the perspectives of the artist’s intention and biography, and divided his artistic work between visual art and theatre.     Sammanfattning : This study investigates reading instruction in the first year of upper-secondary school in Sweden in the L1-subject Swedish. The thesis focuses both on what happens to students’ reading and teachers’ teaching when classroom reading is controlled by assessments, examinations and a national reading comprehension test, and on what teachers of Swedish want their students to learn when reading and comprehending different types of texts.
