  1. 1. Psychophysiological reactions to experimental stress : relations to pain sensitivity, position sense and stress perception

    Författare :Marina Heiden; Eugene Lyskov; Tohr Nilsson; Ulf Lundberg; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :public health; autonomic activity; cognitive-behavioral training; muscle oxygenation; physical activity; position sense; pressure-pain thresholds; sick leave; stress; Occupational and Environmental Medicine; arbets- och miljömedicin;

    Sammanfattning : Stress and monotonous work contribute substantially to the development of chronic musculoskeletal disorders. Yet, the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying the process, particularly the involvement of autonomic regulation, remain unclear. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Autonomic nervous system regulation in chronic neck-shoulder pain : Relations to physical activity and perceived stress

    Författare :David Hallman; Eugene Lyskov; Bengt Arnetz; Ewa Wigaeus Tornqvist; Allan Toomingas; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Autonomic imbalance; Daily physical activity; Trapezius myalgia; Treatment; Parasympathetic; Sympathetic;

    Sammanfattning : Neck-shoulder pain (NSP) is a highly prevalent musculoskeletal disorder with unclear causes, and effective prevention and treatment require a further understanding of the underlying mechanisms. Aberrant autonomic nervous system (ANS) regulation is a hypothesized causal element in the development and maintenance of chronic muscle pain. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Increased urbanization, stress and lifestyle related illness, and biodiversity loss are some of the most urgent challenges today. The potential contributions from green spaces and infrastructures in relation to these challenges are several. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Physical activity and breast cancer. Risk, survival and perceived energy

    Författare :Anna Johnsson; LUCC: Lunds universitets cancercentrum; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Physical activity; occupational sedentariness; Breast cancer; exercise;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Physical activity and avoidance of sedentariness do enhance health in women with breast cancer, and could even reduce the risk of developing the disease. One aim of this thesis was to elucidate the association between sedentariness and breast cancer risk in women as a whole, and then separately for those younger than 55 years old and those 55 years or older. 5. 5. Early Prevention of Non-specific Neck, Shoulder and Back Disorders in Home-care Personnel. Assessments, Predictors of Sick Leave and Intervention

    Författare :Eva Horneij; Människan i rörelse: hälsa och rehabilitering; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Physical medicine; risk; prospective; working population; stress management; physical training; physical performance; clinical tests; nursing; repeatability; reliability; kinesitherapy; revalidation; rehabilitation; Rehabilitering medicinsk och social ;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to gain further knowledge of the assessments, predictors of future sick leave and intervention with regard to early prevention of neck, shoulder and back disorders in nursing aides/assistant nurses working in the home-care service. In Paper I, 15 clinical tests on impairment level related to the low back, were examined for intra- and inter-rater reliability on 18 and 44 subjects, respectively (Step 1). LÄS MER
