21. Evaluation of Modern Irrigation Techniques with Brackish Water
Sammanfattning : Modern irrigation techniques are becoming increasingly important in water-scarce countries especially in arid and semiarid regions. Higher crop production and better water use efficiency are usually achieved by drip irrigation as compared to other irrigation methods. LÄS MER
22. Moisture Induced Stress Perpendicular to Grain in Timber Structures
Sammanfattning : Timber structures and wooden element are in general affected by moisture and moisture variation in different ways. Their hygroscopic properties result in adsorption of water when wetted and in desorption when dried. LÄS MER
23. Geochemical and hydrological aspects of interactions between water and mine waste
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents laboratory studies of sulphidic mine tailings remediated by flooding, and a pilot-scale study of dry cover for remediation of unoxidised sulphide-rich tailings. At the Kristineberg Zn-Cu mine in northern Sweden, sulphide-rich, poorly buffered tailings have been deposited in five impoundments located along a valley. LÄS MER
24. Lagrangian CFD Modeling of Impinging Diesel Sprays for DI HCCI
Sammanfattning : The homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI) concept has been acknowledged as a potential combustion concept for engines, due to low NOx and soot emissions and high efficiency, especially at part-load. Early direct-injection (DI) during the compression stroke is an option when Diesel fuel is used in HCCI. LÄS MER
25. On the measurement and application of cement grout rheological properties
Sammanfattning : The rheological properties of cement-based grouts play a key role in determining the final spread in grouted rock formations. Rheologically, cement grouts are known to be complex thixotropic fluids, but their steady flow behavior is often described by fitting the simple Bingham constitutive law to flow curve data. LÄS MER
