Sammanfattning : The overall purpose of this dissertation is to provide an empirical study of the post-Cold War East Asian security setting, with the aim of understanding why there is an East Asian peace. The East Asian peace exists in a region with a history of militarised conflicts, home to many of the world's longest ongoing militarised problems and a number of unresolved critical flashpoints. Based on an exploration of the textual process towards an international ecumenicaldeclaration on just peace in the World Council of Churches, it suggests that theology can indeed serve as sucha resource and it sketches how theology can make such a contribution. 8. Justice for children? : A socio-legal study on Colombia’s responses to children associated with armed violence
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to examine how criminal justice policy practices arose and persist in light of the international victim-centred legal framework for children associated with armed groups. The study explores the gaps between how children are treated in law versus empirical practices of criminalisation in a particular domestic setting (Colombia), which has been riddled by internal armed conflict and hybrid forms of violence. 9. Socio-cultural viability of international intervention in war-torn societies : a case study of Bosnia Herzegovina
Sammanfattning : This dissertation explores the ‘socio-cultural dilemma’ facing international peacebuilders in war-torn societies through a case study of the post-conflict process in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is done with the help of a typological approach of the grid-group Cultural Theory framework, which defines four social solidarities – or ideal type cultures – of individualism, egalitarianism, fatalism and hierarchy.
