1. Patient Positioning in Radiotherapy Using Body Surface Scanning
Sammanfattning : External radiotherapy uses ionising radiation to damage the DNA of the tumour cells and thereby inhibit their uncontrolled proliferation. The technical development regarding imaging and visualisation for radiotherapy has increased considerably during the last decades. LÄS MER
2. Surface guided radiotherapy
Sammanfattning : Modern radiotherapy aims to treat the decease while minimizing the radiation dose to the adjacent normal tissue, to minimize acute and late effects of the treatment. The foremost technological approaches have been intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and intensity modulated proton therapy (IMPT) in combination with image guided radiotherapy (IGRT). LÄS MER
3. Elevskap och elevskapande : Om formandet av skolans elever
Sammanfattning : This thesis examines two aspects of the shaping of school pupils and has its theoretical base in Foucault's concepts of governmentality and conduct of conduct. The initial study deals with the construction of the ideal pupil in two curricula texts from 1969 and 1994. LÄS MER
4. Att ta rodret i sitt liv : Lärande utmaningar vid långvarig sjukdom
Sammanfattning : A starting point for this thesis is that patients’ learning has not received sufficient attention and thus has not featured in the study programmes in the field of caring. Focus has instead been placed on patients being given information and advice about their illness and treatment, advice that they are then expected to comply with. LÄS MER
5. Acoustic Forces in Cytometry and Biomedical Applications: Multidimensional Acoustophoresis
Sammanfattning : Over the last decades the ongoing work in the fields of Lab-on-a-Chip and Micro-Total-Analysis-Systems has led to the discovery of new or improved ways to handle and analyse small volumes of biofluids and complex biosuspensions. The benefits of working on the microscale include: miniaturization of the analysis systems with less need for large sample volumes; temporal and spatial control of suspended particle/cell positions; low volume sheath flow lamination or mixing; novel separation techniques by using forces inherent to the microscale domain; precise regulation of sample temperatures and rapid analysis with less volumes needed to be processed.
