  1. 1. Patient Positioning in Radiotherapy Using Body Surface Scanning

    Författare :Kenneth Wikström; Anders Ahnesjö; Sven Bäck; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Radiotherapy; positioning; body surface; laser scanning; cancer; SGRT; ITV; lung cancer; surrogate; tumour motion; 4DCT; Medicinsk radiofysik; Medical Radiophysics;

    Sammanfattning : External radiotherapy uses ionising radiation to damage the DNA of the tumour cells and thereby inhibit their uncontrolled proliferation. The technical development regarding imaging and visualisation for radiotherapy has increased considerably during the last decades. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Surface guided radiotherapy

    Författare :Malin Kügele; Lund Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; surface guided radiotherapy; DIBH; SGRT; radiotherapy; patient positioning; intra-fraction motion; surface imaging; treatment planning; SGRT; surface guided radiotherapy; intra-fraction motion; DIBH; patient positioning; treatment planning; surface imaging;

    Sammanfattning : Modern radiotherapy aims to treat the decease while minimizing the radiation dose to the adjacent normal tissue, to minimize acute and late effects of the treatment. The foremost technological approaches have been intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and intensity modulated proton therapy (IMPT) in combination with image guided radiotherapy (IGRT). LÄS MER

  3. 3. Elevskap och elevskapande : Om formandet av skolans elever

    Författare :Lottie Lofors-Nyblom; Catharina Andersson; Agneta Linné; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Junior level; pupils; governmentality; curriculum; subjectivity; positioning; Pedgogical work; Pedagogiskt arbete; Education; pedagogik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis examines two aspects of the shaping of school pupils and has its theoretical base in Foucault's concepts of governmentality and conduct of conduct. The initial study deals with the construction of the ideal pupil in two curricula texts from 1969 and 1994. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Att ta rodret i sitt liv : Lärande utmaningar vid långvarig sjukdom

    Författare :Mia Berglund; Margaretha Ekebergh; Britt-Marie Ternestedt; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; caring science; existential philosophy; lifeworld; learning support; patient education; patients’ learning; long-term illness; Reflective Lifeworld Research; Existensfilosofi; livsvärldsdidaktik; långvarig sjukdom; lärandestöd; patienters lärande; patientundervisning; reflekterande livsvärldsansats; vårdvetenskap.; Caring sciences; Vårdvetenskap; Vårdvetenskap; Caring Science; Medical sciences;

    Sammanfattning : A starting point for this thesis is that patients’ learning has not received sufficient attention and thus has not featured in the study programmes in the field of caring. Focus has instead been placed on patients being given information and advice about their illness and treatment, advice that they are then expected to comply with. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Acoustic Forces in Cytometry and Biomedical Applications: Multidimensional Acoustophoresis

    Författare :Carl Grenvall; Avdelningen för Biomedicinsk teknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Acoustophoresis; Microfluidics; Ultrasound; Multinode; Cell Sorting; Particle Positioning; Cytometry; Lab-on-a-Chip; µTAS; Binary Separation; Acoustic Barriers; Acoustic Particle Manipulation; Acoustic Standing Waves; Blood Separation; Milk Analysis;

    Sammanfattning : Over the last decades the ongoing work in the fields of Lab-on-a-Chip and Micro-Total-Analysis-Systems has led to the discovery of new or improved ways to handle and analyse small volumes of biofluids and complex biosuspensions. The benefits of working on the microscale include: miniaturization of the analysis systems with less need for large sample volumes; temporal and spatial control of suspended particle/cell positions; low volume sheath flow lamination or mixing; novel separation techniques by using forces inherent to the microscale domain; precise regulation of sample temperatures and rapid analysis with less volumes needed to be processed.
