  1. 11. A pathway into the profession : The use, feasibility and outcomes of a peer learning intervention for nursing students and newly graduated nurses

    Författare :Ylva Pålsson; Gunilla Mårtensson; Maria Engström; Christine Leo Swenne; Karin Blomberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Clinical practice education; Intervention; Newly graduated nurses; Nursing students; Peer learning; Workplace introduction.;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of present thesis was to study the use, feasibility and outcomes of a peer learning intervention for nursing students and new graduates, including studies using a quasi-experimental (Study I and III), descriptive (Study II) and mixed-methods (Study IV) design. Data were collected using questionnaires, observations, checklists for intervention fidelity, individual interviews and group interviews. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Examining Inequalities in Cycling Motility : A Pathway Towards Cycling Justice

    Författare :Zahra Hamidi; Christina Lindkvist; Karin Brundell-Freij; Vincent Kaufmann; Malmö universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cycling; justice; motility; mobility capital; accessibility; GIS; Urban studies; Urbana studier; Transportstudier; Transportation studies;

    Sammanfattning : Realizing the environmental and social benefits of cycling requires effective policies that deliver increased and inclusive cycling. This thesis aims to contribute to the development of such policies by providing insights into what could make cycling achievable for more diverse social groups through engaging with theoretical perspectives from transport geography, the mobilities paradigm and social justice. 3. 13. Somatic Mutations in Breast Cancer Genomes : Discovery and Validation of Breast Cancer Genes

    Författare :Xiang Jiao; Tobias Sjöblom; Anne-Lise Børresen-Dale; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; breast cancer; cancer gene; pathway; somatic mutation; structural alteration; sequencing; whole genome amplification; Genetics; Genetik; Medical Genetics; Medicinsk genetik;

    Sammanfattning : Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide. However, the genetic alterations that lead to breast cancer are not fully understood. This thesis aims to identify novel genes of potential mechanistic, diagnostic or therapeutic interest in breast cancers by mutational analysis and whole-genome sequencing. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Energy Analysis of the Closed Greenhouse Concept : Towards a Sustainable Energy Pathway

    Författare :Amir Vadiee; Viktoria Martin; Halime Paksoy; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; thermal energy storage; closed greenhouse; energy analysis; energy management; SRA - Energy; SRA - Energi;

    Sammanfattning : The closed greenhouse is an innovative concept in sustainable energy management. The closed greenhouse can be considered as a large commercial solar building. In principle, it is designed to maximize the utilization of solar energy through seasonal storage. In a fully closed greenhouse, there are not any ventilation windows. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Inhibition of the mevalonate pathway in C. elegans: Consequences and implications

    Författare :Parmida Ranji; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mevalonate pathway; C. elegans; atfs-1; mitochondrial unfolded response UPR ;

    Sammanfattning : The mevalonate pathway in human is responsible for the synthesis of cholesterol and other important biomolecules such as coenzyme Q (a component of the electron transport chain in mitochondria), dolichols (important for N-linked glycosylation of proteins) and isoprenoids (important for the membrane association of small GTPases). This thesis concerns novel findings about the effect of statin on the mevalonate pathway using C. LÄS MER
