1. Industrial System Level Test Automation
Sammanfattning : Vehicular software systems control and monitor many safety-critical functions, such as automated emergency brakes and anti-spin. These functions are integrated and tested at system level to ensure that the entire system works as intended.Traditionally, these functions or selected combinations of functions are tested in isolation. 2. Design of Hospital Operating Room Ventilation using Computational Fluid Dynamics
Sammanfattning : The history of surgery is nearly as old as the human race. Control of wound infection has always been an essential part of any surgical procedure, and is still an important challenge in hospital operating rooms today. For patients undergoing surgery there is always a risk that they will develop some kind of postoperative complication. LÄS MER
3. Altered vascular responses in experimental congestive heart failure
Sammanfattning : Congestive heart failure is accompanied with increased circulatory levels of several vasoregulatory neurotransmitters and hormones which affect the outcome of this disease. In this thesis the blood levels of several vasoactive peptides in humans with congestive heart failure and their effects on the vasculature by the use of an animal model of heart failure were studied. 4. Altered expression of contractile endothelin receptors in the vascular bed
Sammanfattning : This thesis aims at characterizing the endothelin (ET) receptors in different vascular beds of man and rat. The ET-A receptor was shown to be the only contractile ET receptor present in all vascular regions, with the exception of the rat mesenteric vein where a weak ET-B receptor-mediated contraction was seen. 5. Nature-inspired passive flow control using various coatings and appendages
Sammanfattning : There is a wide variety of tails, fins, scales, riblets and surface coatings, which are used by motile animals in nature. Since organisms currently living on earth have gone through millions of years of evolution, one can expect that their design is optimal for their tasks, including locomotion. LÄS MER
