16. Nano-particulate Silica Hydrogels Imaged in 2D and 3D using TEM: Effects of local pore structure on mass transport and applications in aggregation dynamics
Sammanfattning : Porous materials are frequently used in everyday applications including food science, pharmaceuticals, fuel cell membranes, batteries and solar cells. A key aspect in these porous materials is how their micro- and nano-structure affect the internal transport of for example water, particles or charges. The transport is a three-dimensional process. 18. Everything has its processes, one could say : a longitudinal study following students' ideas about transformations of matter from age 7 to 16
Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns students’ learning and meaning-making in science. The theoretical framework builds upon Human Constructivism. This perspective underlines the unique interplay that occurs between thinking, feeling, and acting in human meaning-making and also stresses the important role of language in learning processes. 19. Adsorption and Ordering of Surface Active Molecules and Particles at Solid Interfaces and in the Bulk
Sammanfattning : Factors that influence the process of adsorption and order of dilute and concentrated systems of molecules and particles are explored in this thesis. The results are based largely on neutron scattering techniques. LÄS MER
20. Chlorinated organic pollutants in soil and groundwater at chlorophenol-contaminated sawmill sites
Sammanfattning : Mixtures of chlorinated organic pollutants can be found in the soils at chlorophenol-contaminated sawmill, including (inter alia) polychlorinated phenols (CPs), phenoxyphenols (PCPPs), diphenyl ethers (PCDEs), dibenzofurans (PCDFs) and dioxins (PCDDs). These hydrophobic compounds have low water solubility and hence low mobility as truly dissolved compounds. LÄS MER
