11. Isospin Breaking in Kaon Decays to Pions
Sammanfattning : The five different K -> 3 Pi and the three K -> 2 Pi decays are calculated in Chiral Perturbation Theory. The calculation is done using different approximations, to study whether this changes the result significantly. First the isospin approximation is used. Discrepancies are then found between theory and experiment. LÄS MER
12. Fast ions and turbulent particle transport in tokamaks
Sammanfattning : The presence of highly energetic (fast) ions, be it fusion born alpha particles or ions accelerated by auxiliary heating schemes, can affect the heating and transport of all particles in the plasma through two main mechanisms. First, fast ions may excite fast ion driven instabilities. LÄS MER
13. Investigation of hard-to-filter materials -Relating local filtration properties to particle interaction
Sammanfattning : Filtration as a means of separating solids from liquids is an important unit operation employedin a range of different industrial sectors, e.g. forest products, mineral, chemical process andpharmaceutical industries to name but a few. LÄS MER
14. Particle-fluid interactions under heterogeneous reactions
Sammanfattning : Particle-laden flows involve in many energy and industrial processes within a wide scale range. Solid fuel combustion and gasication, drying and catalytic cracking are some of the examples. It is vital to have a better understanding of the phenomena inside the reactors involving in particle-laden flows for process improvements and design. LÄS MER
15. Nonlinear dynamics of frequency sweeping energetic particle modes in tokamaks
Sammanfattning : In a burning plasma, such as the next generation tokamak experiment ITER, significant numbers of highly energetic particles will be produced via nuclear reactions. The presence of energetic particles, be it fusion born alpha particles or ions accelerated by auxiliary heating schemes, may excite kinetic instabilities and thereby affect the heating and transport of all particles in the plasma.
