  1. 1. Challenges in aero engine performance modeling

    Författare :Sebastian Samuelsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; part-load modeling; Aero engine; conceptual design; performance modeling; multidisciplinary design;

    Sammanfattning : There is a continuous drive for ever more efficient aero engines due to environmental as well as economical concerns. As the technology of conventional turbofan engines matures, there is a need for new aero engine concepts as well as incremental improvement of existing technologies. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Retrofitting CHP Plant and Optimization of Regional Energy System

    Författare :Song Han; Jinyue Yan; Eva Thorin; Mats Westermark; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :annual performance; combined heat and power; drying; ethanol; integration; part-load.; årliga prestation; kraftvärme; torkning; etanol; integration; del-last.; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The use of biomass-based combined heat and power (CHP) plants is considered by the EU administration to be an effective way to increase the use of renewables in the energy system, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to alleviate the dependency on imported fossil fuels. At present in Sweden, most of the CHP plants are operated in part-load mode because of variations in heat demand. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Lagrangian CFD Modeling of Impinging Diesel Sprays for DI HCCI

    Författare :Per Strålin; Hans-Erik Ångström; Christian Kreuger; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; HCCI; Diesel; early direct-injection; impinging nozzle; CFD; Lagrangian modeling; collision models; O’Rourke; Engineering mechanics; Teknisk mekanik;

    Sammanfattning : The homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI) concept has been acknowledged as a potential combustion concept for engines, due to low NOx and soot emissions and high efficiency, especially at part-load. Early direct-injection (DI) during the compression stroke is an option when Diesel fuel is used in HCCI. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Modeling of post-combustion carbon capture in power plants and process industries - partial capture and load following conditions

    Författare :Stefanìa Òsk Gardarsdòttir; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Post-combustion; MEA; ammonia; dynamic modelling; chemical absorption; industrial sources;

    Sammanfattning : Carbon capture and storage (CCS) is recognized as a potent technology for the mitigation of global warming, since it can significantly reduce CO2 emission from large point source emitters. Post-combustion CO2 capture using chemical absorption is a versatile end-of-pipe technology that can be implemented at all point sources of CO2, such as a power production facility or industrial plant.
