    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this thesis is to apply a name user perspective to the street names of Stockholm, with a focus on knowledge and views about names among the city’s inhabitants. On the basis of interview surveys, a picture is presented of the knowledge and views of Stockholmers regarding their city’s street names and the semantic or thematic name categories to which many of them belong; that is, the study seeks to identify general features of the ways in which the people of the city relate to their street names.     Sammanfattning : Up to the middle of the 19th century the distribution of mail, public as well as private, was, to a large extent, a duty imposed on farmers. Demands from farmers to be relieved of this duty resulted in the Government giving the Post Office authority to set up post offices of a new, relatively simple kind (poststationer, or sub-post offices).     Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with place-names in the southern part of the municipality of Skellefteå in the province of Västerbotten, more precisely the parishes of Bureå, Burträsk and Lövånger. It consists of three different sections, first a survey of the settlement names in each parish, then a section on the second elements in these place-names, and finally a study of names of more recent settlements.
