   Sammanfattning : Traditional socialization theories suggest that parents shape their children, and parents’ socialization strategies are decided upon largely independent of the children.    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to describe parents’ expectations, experiences and reactions to a routine ultrasound examination during the second trimester of pregnancy and to develop, test and use a questionnaire.    Sammanfattning : Abstract Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a chronic and relapsing disorder of the gastrointestinal tract that includes the two major subcategories ulcerative colitis and Crohn´s disease. Suffering from IBD during adolescence, which is a critical period of physical, psychological and social development, may be especially demanding and it may have adverse effects on self-esteem and socialization.
