    Sammanfattning : The main goals of this dissertation are to investigate the associations between language and executive functions, including selective auditory attention, in Swedish children aged 4–6, to examine possible links to factors relating to the child and his/her social environment, and to evaluate preschool interventions with regard to potential improvements in language and/or executive functions. Measures were obtained by combining results from behavioral tests, language samples in the form of narratives, parent and teacher ratings and a measure of selective auditory attention as brain activity.     Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to investigate how UN conventions, national laws, regulations, and policies are manifested in everyday experiences of parents of children with disabilities. The specific aims of this thesis are to 1) investigate how parents of children with developmental disabilities experience their parenthood and received formal support, 2) investigate how parents and professionals experience the opportunity for children with disabilities to participate in decision-making process, 3) describe how individual factors (parental gender and country of origin as well as the child’s diagnosis and age) contribute to parents’ experience of their subjective need and experience of support during the course of childhood (age span in all the studies 1-20 years).     Sammanfattning : In this thesis I aimed to study, from a psychological viewpoint, what adult life is like for young men who sexually offended in adolescence. Data had previously been gathered from a group of 45 adolescents who had sexually offended.
