1. Metal release from stainless steel and CoCrMo alloys in protein-rich environments – effects of protein aggregation, friction, and irradiation
Sammanfattning : Highly corrosion-resistant alloys are used in sensitive environments such as the human body and food environments. However, even tiny amounts of released metals from these surfaces could potentially cause adverse effects. It is hence important to study the biointerface between corrosion-resistant alloys and protein-rich environments. LÄS MER
2. Topographical micro-changes in corrugated board production : effects on flexographic post-print quality
Sammanfattning : The appearance and design of a package are key properties to attract and to focus the attention of a customer. Print quality contributes to a great degree to achieve these requirements. Most critical perceived in terms of quality are print defects like mottling, gloss and stripiness, which all appear in the printing of corrugated board. LÄS MER
3. Additive-Driven Improvements in Interfacial Properties and Processing of TMP-Polymer Composites
Sammanfattning : Efforts to address environmental concerns have resulted in new regulations designed to plan the reduction of plastic and synthetic polymer usage, necessitating the search for sustainable natural alternatives with comparable cost-effectiveness and mechanical performance. Thermomechanical pulp (TMP) fibres are one of the most affordable natural fibres that have no chemical refining in production, production have a high yield of 90-98% and TMP fibres have been demonstrated to improve the mechanical characteristics (strength, stiffness and toughness) of wood-polymer composites (WPCs) compared to the pure polymer. 4. On friction in metal power compaction process
Sammanfattning : The present work describes different ways of measuring and studying friction in a metal powder compaction process. Reducing friction during this process will allow an increase in the density of powder components and reduce variation in the density, which is a common problem in this process. This work contain three papers. LÄS MER
5. Discrete element simulation of elasto-plastic shock waves in high-velocity compaction
Sammanfattning : Elasto-plastic shock waves in high-velocity compaction of spherical metal particles are the focus of this thesis which consists of four papers (A-D). The compaction process is modeled by a discrete element method while using elastic and plastic loading, elastic unloading and adhesion at contacts. LÄS MER
