  1. 11. Housing policy and family formation

    Författare :Cecilia Enström Öst; Thomas Lindh; Henry Ohlsson; Mats Wilhelmsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; housing economics; housing policy; family formation; housing tenure; homeownership; Economics; Nationalekonomi; Economics; Nationalekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : Essay 1: This paper addresses the impact on housing consumption of a decrease in housing allowance among single recipient parents living in rental apartments. We take advantage of an imposed limit on the recipients’ dwelling size in the Swedish housing allowance reform in 1996-1997 that can be argued to be close to a natural experiment. LÄS MER

  2. 12. On the wood chipping process : a study on basic mechanisms in order to optimize chip properties for pulping

    Författare :Lisbeth Hellström; Torbjörn Carlberg; Per Engstrand; Sören Östlund; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Wood chipping; Chip formation; Digital Speckle Photography; Friction; Fracture Processes; Analytical model; Laboratory Wood Chipper; Force Measurement; Vibration Synthesis; Energy Efficiency; Chip Damage; TMP; CTMP; Cellulose and paper engineering; Cellulosa- och pappersteknik;

    Sammanfattning : In both the chemical and mechanical pulping process, the logs are cut into wood chips by a disc chipper before fibre separation. To make the wood chipping process more efficient, one have to investigate in detail the coupling between process parameters and the quality of the chips. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Polyelectrolyte complexes : their preparation, adsorption behaviour and effect on paper properties

    Författare :Caroline Ankerfors; Lars Wågberg; Monica Ek; Tom Lindström; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Cellulose and paper engineering; Cellulosa- och pappersteknik;

    Sammanfattning : In this work, the formation of polyelectrolyte complexes (PECs) has been studied using a jet mixing method not previously used for mixing polyelectrolytes. The PECs were formed from two weak polyelectrolytes, i.e. LÄS MER

  4. 14. On the Adhesion Between Substrates Covered with Polyelectrolyte Multilayers

    Författare :Rikard Lingström; Lars Wågberg; Lennart Piculell; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; fibre; polyelectorlyte; multilayer; wettability; contact angle; paper strength; atomic force microscopy; surface force apparatus; Cellulose and paper engineering; Cellulosa- och pappersteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis examines the formation of Polyelectrolyte Multilayers (PEM) on cellulose fibres as a new way of influencing the fibre surface and the adhesion between wood fibres. The aim of the study was to enhance the fundamental understanding of the adsorption mechanisms behind the formation of Polyelectrolyte Multilayers on cellulose fibres; to study how the properties of the layers can be influenced and to show how the properties of the layers influence the adhesion between the fibres and the strength of paper sheets made from the PEM treated fibres. 5. 15. Through air drying : The influence of formation and pulp type on non-uniform drying and air flow

    Författare :Aron Tysén; Christophe Barbier; Lars Nilsson; Hannes Vomhoff; Stig Stenström; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Drying; Dewatering; Water removal; Moisture; Non-uniformity; Variability; Tissue; TAD; Through air drying; Thermography; Formation; Pulp; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The removal of water is an integral part of tissue paper production. Through air drying (TAD) is used for water removal when producing premium tissue grade products, however, at the price of higher energy demand. A better understanding of TAD may therefore lower the energy demand. LÄS MER
