1. Palladium(II)-Catalyzed Heck Reactions : Domino Reactions, Decarboxylations, Mechanistic Studies & Continuous Flow Applications
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes research efforts dedicated to the development of palladium(II)-catalyzed oxidative Heck and Heck/Suzuki domino reactions, and the applications of a new microwave heating technology, purpose-built for continuous flow in organic synthesis.Paper I describes the development of a ligand-modulated approach for attaching aryl groups to a chelating vinyl ether. 2. Packing effects in palladium(II) and platinum(II) compounds, X-ray crystallography
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on i) the effect of packing on the molecular geometry ii) packing arrangements of neutral Pd(II) and Pt(II) complexes iii) the trans influence in Pt(II) complexes iv) the differences in bonding in corresponding Pd(II) and Pt(II) complexes and v) the geometry of Pd(II) complexes with potential catalytic properties. Detailed three-dimensional structural information at the atomic level can be obtained from X-ray crystallography. LÄS MER
3. Palladium-based Nanoplasmonics for Ultrafast and Deactivation-Resistant Hydrogen Detection
Sammanfattning : In the hydrogen economy scenario, hHydrogen gas is ispotential to be the main energy carrier in the hydrogen economy scenario in the upcoming future. It receives much attention since the reaction with oxygen generates electricity and produces only clean waterhydrogen is attractive as energy carrier since the energy produced by its reaction with oxygen only producesleaves water as by-product. 5. Palladium-Catalysed Couplings in Organic Synthesis : Exploring Catalyst-Presenting Strategies and Medicinal Chemistry Applications
Sammanfattning : Palladium-catalysed coupling reactions have been embraced by synthetic chemists as one of the preferred means for smooth formation of new carbon-carbon bonds: a truly ubiquitous methodology of synthesizing complex molecules. This thesis describes the study of a series of palladium(0)-catalysed C2-arylations of a 1-cyclopentenyl ether, equipped with a chiral (S)-N-methyl-pyrrolidine auxiliary.
