  1. 1. The Jovian Plasma Dynamics and Composition Analyzer (JDC) for ESA's JUICE Mission

    Författare :Philipp Wittmann; Martin Wieser; Stas Barabash; Krister Wiklund; Frédéric Allegrini; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; JUICE mission; positive ions; negative ions; electrons; time-of-flight; time-of-arrival; PEP; JDC; CEM; channel electron multiplier; pressure; instrument development; calibration; TOF; TOA; fysik; Physics; rymd- och plasmafysik; Space and Plasma Physics;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation covers the development and calibration of the Jovian plasma Dynamics and Composition analyzer (JDC). JDC is together with five other sensors a part of the Particle Environment Package (PEP), one of the payloads of the European Space Agency's JUpiter ICy moons Explorer (JUICE) mission. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Mystical experiences and scientific method : a study of the possibility of identifying a "mystical" experience by a scientific method, with special reference to the theory of Walter T Stace

    Författare :Christer Norrman; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES;

    Sammanfattning : A necessary condition for being able to identify a mystical experience by a scientific method is to solve the following problems:(a) We must explicitly present and argue for a theory of meaning that allows us to draw conclusions from mystical sentences about the experience in question. No such theory exists today. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Development and simulated observations of the Jovian Neutrals Analyzer

    Författare :Angèle Pontoni; Manabu Shimoyama; Mats Holmström; Ove Andersson; Andrew Yau; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; space instrumentation; space physics; Ganymede; Jupiter; fysik; Physics; rymd- och plasmafysik; Space and Plasma Physics;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the development of the Jovian Neutrals Analyzer (JNA) for the Jupiter ICy moons Explorer (JUICE) mission to Jupiter, planned to launch in 2023. Jupiter, the largest planet in the Solar System, orbits the Sun at five times the distance from the Earth to the Sun, accompanied by dozens of moons, rings, and the largest object in the SolarSystem: the Jovian magnetosphere. 4. 4. Moving decolonially in design for sustainabilities : spaces, rhythms, rituals, celebrations, conflicts

    Författare :Nicholas B. Torretta; Johan Redström; Brendon Clark; Andrea Botero Cabrero; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Design; decolonization; sustainability; Capoeira; movement; decolonising design; design for sustainability; pluriverse; pluriversality; industrial design; design; design;

    Sammanfattning : As design attempts to tackle environmental and social issues, it has found itself intertwined with and bound to an oppressive global paradigm that has created the problems in the first place. Consequently, the effort of disentangling design from its current paradigm has been gaining attention under the emerging focus of decolonising design (Mareis and Paim, 2020; Tlostanova, 2017) and design for pluriversality (Escobar, 2018; Noel, 2020).
