  1. 1. Biochemical and Structural Studies on the Adaptor Protein p130Cas

    Författare :Fariborz Nasertorabi; Kathryn R Ely; Lars Liljas; Jyrki Heino; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cell and molecular biology; Integrin signaling; p130Cas; X-ray Crystallography; NMR Spectroscopy; Protein phosphorylation; BCAR-1; Cell- och molekylärbiologi; Cell and molecular biology; Cell- och molekylärbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Crk associated substrate (Cas) is an adaptor protein that becomes phosphorylated upon integrin signaling and influences regulation of cell processes such as migration, proliferation and survival. It consists of multiple domains and regions that can interact with several signaling proteins involved in different signaling pathways. LÄS MER

  2. 2. The expression and function of protein kinase C isoforms in differentiating neuroblastoma cells

    Författare :Sofia Fagerström; Institutionen för translationell medicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Neurologi; neurophysiology; neuropsychology; Neurology; p130cas; PKC; fte-1; neuroblastoma; SH-SY5Y cells; growth cones; neuronal differentiation; neuropsykologi; neurofysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : The human neuroblastoma cell line SH-SY5Y can be induced to differentiate into a neuronal sympathetic phenotype after treatment with 16 nM 12-O-tetradecanoyl phorbol 13-acetate (TPA) in serum, or by a combination of the growth factors basic fibroblast growth factor and insulin-like growth factor-I (bFGF/IGF-I). SH-SY5Y cells stably transfected with TrkA, the nerve growth factor (NGF) receptor, differentiate in response to NGF. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Effects of invasin and YopH of Yersinia pseudotuberculosis on host cell signaling

    Författare :Anna Gustavsson; Maria Fällman; Arnoud Sonnenberg; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Molecular biology; β1-integrin; Yersinia pseudotuberculosis; Invasin; YopH; Cell-Matrix Adhesion; Filopodia; Cell Spreading; Molekylärbiologi; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi; molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology;

    Sammanfattning : Integrins are a large family of membrane-spanning heterodimeric (αβ) receptors that bind to ligands on other cells or to extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins. These receptors mediate bidirectional signaling over the cell membrane to induce signaling cascades mediating functions as cell adhesion, spreading and migration. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Signal Transduction by Proline-Rich Tyrosine Kinase Pyk2

    Författare :Inga Dikic; Olli Silvennoinen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Oncology; Onkologi; Protein phosphorylation; tyrosine kinase; Pyk2 FAK; neuronal differentiation; Ras MAP kinase pathway; Oncology; Onkologi; molekylär cellbiologi; Molecular Cellbiology;

    Sammanfattning : The proline-rich tyrosine kinase (Pyk2) together with focal adhesion kinase (FAK) define a family of non-receptor protein tyrosine kinases that are regulated by diverse stimuli. Activation of Pyk2 has been implicated in multiple signaling events, including modulation of ion channels, activation of MAP kinase cascades and apoptotic cell death. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Adhesion Dependent Signals : Cell Survival, Receptor Crosstalk and Mechanostimulation

    Författare :Anjum Riaz; Staffan Johansson; Bengt Hallberg; Uppsala universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : The integrin family of cell surface receptors is evolutionary conserved and found in all multicellular animals. In humans 8-alpha and 18-beta integrins are non-covalently associated into 24 dimers. Integrins mediate cell-extracellular matrix and cell-cell interactions and participate in cell signalling. LÄS MER
