  1. 1. Early Diagnosis of Epithelial Ovarian Cancer - Analysis of Novel Biomarkers

    Författare :Björg Kristjansdottir; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Epithelial Ovarian Cancer; Ovarian cyst fluid; Tumor biomarkers; Proteomics; Pelvic mass; Mass Spectometry; SELDI-TOF MS; iTRAQ;

    Sammanfattning : Early Diagnosis of Epithelial Ovarian Cancer - Analysis of Novel Biomarkers Björg Kristjánsdóttir Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Institute of Clinical Sciences at Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg, Sweden ABSTRACT Background: Majority of epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) is detected in advanced stage with bad prognosis and high mortality. Reliable diagnostic markers are lacking, pre-cancerous lesions in the more aggressive tumors are not clearly defined, vague or unspecific early symptoms, and the localization of the ovaries, deep in the pelvis contributes to late diagnose. 2. 2. Sperm motility in Gasterosteiform fishes : The role of salinity and ovarian fluid

    Författare :Helena Elofsson; Bertil Borg; Matthew Gage; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biology; Biologi;

    Sammanfattning : In externally fertilising fishes, various factors in the surrounding environment may influence the viability of the sperm and eggs, thus determining the success of reproduction. In this thesis, the influence of salinity and ovarian fluid on sperm motility has been investigated in three Gasterosteiform fishes. LÄS MER

  3. 3. OVULATION: Intra-ovarian mechanisms

    Författare :Farnosh Sørensen Zakerkish; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Ovulation; Human;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Ovulation is the central biological process involved in the menstrual cycle of women. Specifically, ovulation involves the tissue remodelling of the preovulatory follicle to achieve the rupture of the exterior follicle wall with the extrusion of the oocyte. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Data analysis for discovering the protein profile dynamics of the human ovarian follicular fluid and BRAF mutated metastatic melanoma tissue. : -

    Författare :Indira Pla Parada; Malmö Klinisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; proteomics; data analysis; malignant melanoma; ovarian follicular fluid; reproduction; bioinformatics; mass spectromery; female infertility;

    Sammanfattning : Proteomics is widely utilized to understand the function of cellular processes at the molecular level. Using liquid chromatography interfaced with mass spectrometry (LC-MS)-based proteomics, thousands of proteins can be identified and quantified in a single experiment and their relationship and interactions can be analyzed.     Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; human; ovarian cancer; high-grade serous cancer; EOC; HGSC; HGSOC; tumor microenvironment; immune escape; immune suppression; cytokines; exosomes; NKG2D; MICA B; ULBP1-3; DNAM-1; surgery; obstetrik och gynekologi; Obstetrics and Gynaecology;

    Sammanfattning : Tumors develop mechanisms to subvert the immune system, constituting immune escape. Epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC), the deadliest of all gynecological malignancies, uses a variety of mechanisms to undermine immune surveillance, aiding its establishment and metastatic spreading.
