1. Conducting Polymers Containing In-Chain Metal Centres : Electropolymerisation and Charge Transport
Sammanfattning : Conjugated polymers that exhibit high electronic conductivities play key roles in the emerging field of molecular electronics. In particular, linking metal centres with useful electrochemical, photophysical, or catalytic properties to the backbone, or within the polymer chain itself, is a topic which has attracted a significant amount of interest lately. 2. Extracellular electron transfer features of the Gram-positive bacterium Enterococcus faecalis
Sammanfattning : Electroactive microorganisms possess the unique ability to transfer electrons to or from a solid phase electron conductor, e.g., electrodes or minerals, through various physiological mechanisms. LÄS MER
3. 2nd and 3rd generation electrodes for biosensors and biofuel cells
Sammanfattning : The catalytic and electrochemical properties of tryptophan repressor-binding protein (WrbA), pyranose dehydrogenase (PDH), cellobiose dehydrogenase (CDH) and glucose dehydrogenase (GDH) on carbon electrodes were investigated using cyclic voltammetry and flow injection amperometry to construct biosensors and biofuel cell (BFC) anodes. WrbA has a catalytic FMN-containing domain whereas both PDH and GDH have a catalytic FAD-containing domains. LÄS MER
4. Amperometric Carbon Paste Biosensors Based on Horseradish Peroxidase and Oxidases
Sammanfattning : Amperometric carbon paste peroxide sensors based on horseradish peroxidase (HRP) were developed. In the first approach, HRP was chemically modified with polyethylene glycol to improve the stability of the enzyme in the organic paste matrix and compared with native HRP electrode. LÄS MER
5. Direct electron transfer between cellobiose dehydrogenase and solidmetal or graphite electrodes
Sammanfattning : Direct electron transfer (ET) between the enzyme cellobiose dehydrogenase (CDH) and different metal and graphite electrodes has been investigated. The heme domain of the CDH has been shown to play a key-role in the direct ET. A mechanism for the ET between CDH and graphite electrodes was proposed. LÄS MER
