6. Use of Aqueous Slurries of Oxides for Ecocompatible Organic Synthesis
Sammanfattning : There is a continuous interest and need of developing environmentally benign synthetic routes. Increased public awareness and more rigid environmental legislation have elevated the drive towards sustainable development and ecocompatible syntheses. LÄS MER
7. Studies on nucleoside H-phosphonoselenoate chemistry and chalcogen exchange reaction between P(V) and P(III) compounds
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, the chemistry of compounds containing P-Se bonds has been studied. As a new addition to this class of compounds, H-phosphonoselenoate monoesters, have been introduced and two synthetic pathways for their preparation have been developed. LÄS MER
8. Development of New Efficient Iridium-Catalyzed Methods for the Construction of Carbon-Heteroatom Bonds
Sammanfattning : Today’s society has a large demand for biologically active chemicals that can be used for example as pharmaceuticals and in the agriculture. These are normally constructed by assembling together several smaller chemical molecules. LÄS MER
9. Structure, dynamics and reactivity of carbohydrates : NMR spectroscopic studies
Sammanfattning : The main focus of this thesis is on the ring conformations of carbohydrate molecules; how the conformational equilibria and the rates of the associated interconversions are affected by the molecular constitution and their surroundings. The conformational equilibria of a group of amine linked pseudodisaccharides, designed as potential glycosidase inhibitors, comprising α-D-altrosides are described in Chapter 3. 10. Synthesis and applications of analogues of Tröger's base as molecular tubes, receptor and ligands
Sammanfattning : Tröger’s base was synthesized for the first time in 1887. The molecule is rigid, C2-symmetric and has a 90° angle, forming a chiral hydrophobic pocket. In this thesis, the synthesis of new analogues of Tröger’s base is described. 2- and 3-halo-substituted anilines have for the first time been condensed to Tröger’s base analogues. LÄS MER
