21. Structure and morphology control of organic semiconductors for functional optoelectronic applications
Sammanfattning : The functionality and application of organic semiconductors are largely dependent on their constituent structure and morphology. This thesis presents a number of functional and novel approaches for the control and tuning of structural and morphological features of a variety of organic semiconductor materials, and also demonstrates that these approaches can be utilized for improved device operation of field-effect transistors, organic solar cells and light-emitting electrochemical cells. 22. Optimering i organisk syntes : betingelser, system, syntesvägar
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with different optimization problems encountered in organic synthesis. The use of response surface, sequential simplex and PLS techniques, for simultanious optimization of yield and suppression of side reactions is investigated. This is illustrated by an example of enamine synthesis, were a side reaction was a serious problem. LÄS MER
23. Crystallization of Parabens : Thermodynamics, Nucleation and Processing
Sammanfattning : In this work, the solubility of butyl paraben in 7 pure solvents and in 5 different ethanol-water mixtures has been determined from 1 ˚C to 50 ˚C. The solubility of ethyl paraben and propyl paraben in various solvents has been determined at 10 ˚C. LÄS MER
24. Symmetry in Asymmetric Catalysis and Hydrogen Bond-Based Self-Assembly : Synthesis and Investigations
Sammanfattning : The thesis elaborates on four different projects focusing on synthesizing symmetry-related molecules and investigating their performance as catalysts for asymmetric catalysis or as monomers for hydrogen bond-based self-assembly.Chapter 2 describes a new method to desymmetrize a meso-ligand. 25. Palladium(II)-Catalyzed Heck Reactions : Domino Reactions, Decarboxylations, Mechanistic Studies & Continuous Flow Applications
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes research efforts dedicated to the development of palladium(II)-catalyzed oxidative Heck and Heck/Suzuki domino reactions, and the applications of a new microwave heating technology, purpose-built for continuous flow in organic synthesis.Paper I describes the development of a ligand-modulated approach for attaching aryl groups to a chelating vinyl ether.
