  1. 1. Dissolved organic matter in lakes : Chemical diversity and continuum of reactivity

    Författare :Alina Mostovaya; Lars Tranvik; Colin Stedmon; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :dissolved organic matter; DOM; dissolved organic carbon; DOC; PARAFAC; reactivity continuum model; ultrahigh resolution mass spectrometry; FT-ICR-MS; organic matter characterization; decomposition kinetics; baseline metabolism; Biologi med inriktning mot limnologi; Biology with specialization in Limnology;

    Sammanfattning : Dissolved organic matter (DOM) is the largest pool of organic carbon in aquatic systems and an important component of the global carbon cycle. Large amounts of DOM are decomposed within lakes, resulting in fluxes of CO2 and CH4 to the atmosphere. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Molecular-level dissolved organic matter dynamics in lakes : Constraints on reactivity and persistence

    Författare :Anne Marie Kellerman; Lars J. Tranvik; Dolly N. Kothawala; Thorsten Dittmar; Robert G. M. Spencer; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :dissolved organic matter; DOM; dissolved organic carbon; organic matter characterization; fluorescence; PARAFAC; molecular weight; mass spectrometry; FT-ICR-MS; boreal lakes; Biology with specialization in Limnology; Biologi med inriktning mot limnologi;

    Sammanfattning : Dissolved organic matter (DOM) is a central component of the global carbon cycle. Thus, small changes to the amount of DOM imported, processed and produced within lakes can have a large effect on regional carbon budgets. In addition to being a vital energy source at the base of the aquatic food web, DOM is physico-chemically reactive. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Characterization of dissolved organic matter : An analytical challenge

    Författare :Claudia Patriarca; Jonas Bergquist; Lars Tranvik; Jeffrey A. Hawkes; Jonathan Martin; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Kemi med inriktning mot analytisk kemi; Chemistry with specialization in Analytical Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Dissolved organic matter (DOM) is the prevalent form of organic carbon in most aquatic environments. It is an ultra-complex mixture that plays a crucial role in global carbon cycling. Despite its importance it is still poorly understood due to its extreme heterogeneity and intricacy. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Voltage Stabilizers: From Design to Synthesis, Processing and Electrical Characterization

    Författare :Markus Jarvid; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Polyethylene; Degradation; XLPE; Electrical treeing; Voltage stabilizer; Cable; Insulation;

    Sammanfattning : Voltage stabilizers are additives capable of inhibiting electrical treeing; a degradation mechanism for insulation materials subjected to strong divergent electric fields. The intended use is in cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) high voltage power cable insulation where minute defects in the manufacturing process can give rise to the conditions needed for the initiation of treeing, which in the worst case scenario leads to failure of the insulation system with blackouts and expensive repairs as a consequence. 5. 5. Switching Kinetics and Charge Transport in Organic Ferroelectrics

    Författare :Tim Cornelissen; Martijn Kemerink; Mats Fahlman; Kamal Asadi; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organic Electronics; Ferroelectrics; Organic Ferroelectrics;

    Sammanfattning : The continued digitalization of our society means that more and more things are getting connected electronically. Since currently used inorganic electronics are not well suited for these new applications because of costs and environmental issues, organic electronics can play an important role here. LÄS MER
