  1. 21. Stable and radiogenic isotopes as tracers for geochemical processes in mineralogically-complex mine waste environments : Insights from 13C, 2H, 18O, 34S and 87Sr/86Sr

    Författare :Musah Salifu; Lena Alakangas; Maria Nieves Otero Perez; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Tillämpad geokemi; Applied Geochemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Mining and its related activities generate large volumes of mine wastes such as tailings that can have negative environmental implications. One of such mine wastes of potential environmental concern is the historical Yxsjöberg Cu-W-F skarn tailings in Sweden, which encompasses a complex mineralogy including sulphides, carbonates, silicates, oxides / wolframite and halides. 2. 22. Impact of hydropower regulation on river water geochemistry and hyporheic exchange

    Författare :Dmytro Siergieiev; Hjalmar Laudon; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; regulated river; hyporheic zone; hydraulic conductivity; clogging layer; Applied Geology; Tillämpad geologi;

    Sammanfattning : Hydropower regulation of rivers exhibits a threat to the riverine ecosystems. Fragmentation of flow, landscape disturbances, and water retention are key features of regulated catchments, resulting in reduced floods and geochemical tr¬ansport, non-natural water level fluctuations, and thus disturbed exchange between the river and the aquifer. 3. 23. Intra-annual variability of natural organic matter in boreal streams : patterns and controls

    Författare :Mattias Winterdahl; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Natural organic matter (NOM) is a key component in aquatic ecosystems. It influences for example acidity, mobility and toxicity of metals and organic pollutants, energy input to aquatic food webs, weathering, and water light conditions. There are also considerable costs associated with removing NOM in drinking water production. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Tracking changes in dissolved natural organic matter composition : evaluating drinking water production using optical and molecular level tools

    Författare :Elin Lavonen; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : During the last decades, the abundance of dissolved organic matter (DOM), a complex heterogeneous mixture of organic compounds, has increased in many surface waters in Northern Europe and North America. Surface waters are widely used as raw water sources for drinking water production. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Thermal history of the Phanerozoic sedimentary succession of Skåne, southern Sweden, and implications for applied geology

    Författare :Ingela Olsson; Berggrundsgeologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; mineralogy; geochemistry; Petrologi; mineralogi; geokemi; Petrology; organic matter reflectance; organic geochemistry; illite crystallinity; clay mineralogy; thermal history; Phanerozoicum; Skåne; Sweden;

    Sammanfattning : Post-depositional thermal conditions have been investigated throughout the Phanerozoic sedimentary succession in Skåne. Clay mineralogy and illite crystallinity have been the main tools for the Lower Palaeozoic strata. Within the Mesozoic sequence thermal influence was examined using RockEval pyrolysis and vitrinite reflectance analysis. LÄS MER
