Sammanfattning : A starting point for this study was an interest based in my earlier experience that most of the youngest children’s mathematizing in everyday life was unspoken and unknown. Sammanfattning : The topic of this dissertation is the wave of pietist revivals, or awakenings, that swept across western Sweden during the first half of the eighteenth century. Originating in Saxony, in the previous century, the pietist movement and its various expressions left a lasting impression on the social and cultural environment of northern Germany and large parts of Scandinavia. 4. Capacity assessment of arch bridges with backfill : Case of the old Årsta railway bridge
Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis comprises the assessment of existing arch bridges with overlying backfill. The main objective is to estimate the load carrying capacity in ultimate limit state analysis. A case study of the old Årsta railway bridge is presented, serving as both the initiation and a direct application of the present research. LÄS MER
5. The Mild Boredom of Order : A Study in the History of the Manuscript Collection of Queen Christina of Sweden
Sammanfattning : This study examines how the Latin manuscript collection of Queen Christina of Sweden was formed, what function it served for the queen and for others, and how various attempts to impose order on it reflect different epistemological traditions. A recurring theme of the study is the creation of order and the title, The Mild Boredom of Order, a quotation taken from an essay on book collecting by Walter Benjamin, refers to this pervasive theme.
