16. A Simulation-Based Optimisation Method for PLC Systems
Sammanfattning : Tuning of process parameters such as time constants, cam values, velocities and robot paths, in order to increase capacity utilisation, is today a challenging manual on-line task in many automated manufacturing systems. On-line methods interfere with production and will cause unwanted downtime, which indeed reduces capacity utilisation. LÄS MER
17. Optimisation of Long-Term Industrial Planning
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, long-term optimisation methods for industrial transition processes have beendeveloped, taking monetary and environmental considerations into account. Two different methods forinvestment optimisation have been developed. LÄS MER
18. Multi-Robot Motion Planning Optimisation for Handling Sheet Metal Parts
Sammanfattning : Motion planning for robot operations is concerned with path planning and trajectory generation. In multi-robot systems, i.e. with multiple robots operating simultaneously in a shared workspace, the motion planning also needs to coordinate the robots' motions to avoid collisions between them. 19. Optimisation methods for solving a large-scale avionics scheduling problem
Sammanfattning : Modern computer systems in aircraft are based on an integrated modular avionic architecture. In this architecture, software applications share hardware resources on a common avionic platform. Many functions in an aircraft are controlled by software and a failure in such software can have severe consequences. LÄS MER
20. Development of methods and strategies for optimisation of x-ray examinations
Sammanfattning : The overall aim of the work presented in this thesis was to develop methods and strategies for the optimisation process prescribed by legal authorities for medical X-ray imaging. This overall aim was divided into four detailed aims: 1) to analyse and describe the conditions for the optimisation of a given projectional X-ray examination in a digital environment, 2) to develop an overall strategy for the optimisation work in a radiology department, 3) to develop and implement a suitable method for statistical analysis of visual grading characteristics (VGC) data, and, 4) to evaluate the characteristics of the new statistical method by comparison with receiver operating characteristics (ROC) statistical methodology and by simulations.
