  1. 21. Experiences from Cochlear Implantation and Auditory Brainstem Implantation in Adults and Children : Electrophysiological Measurements, Hearing Outcomes and Patient Satisfaction

    Författare :Karin Lundin; Helge Rask-Andersen; Fredrik Stillesjö; Claes Möller; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :cochlear implant; auditory brainstem implant; electrically evoked auditory brainstem responses; long deafness duration; neurofibromatosis type 2; Medicinsk vetenskap; Medical Science;

    Sammanfattning : Cochlear implants (CIs) and auditory brainstem implants (ABIs) are prostheses for hearing used in patients with profound hearing impairment. A CI requires an operational cochlear nerve to function in contrast to an ABI. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Thermo-electric temperature measurements in friction stir welding : Towards feedback control of temperature

    Författare :Ana Magalhães; Gunnar Bolmsjö; Jeroen De Backer; Högskolan Väst; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; FSW; Robotic; Temperature; TWT; Plunge; Control; Production Technology; Produktionsteknik; Manufacturing and materials engineering; Produktions- och materialteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Friction Stir Welding has seen a fast uptake in many industry segments. Mechanical properties superior to fusion welding, the ability to weld "unweldable" aluminium alloys and low distortion are often described as the main reasons for the fast industrial implementation of FSW. Most existing applications consist of long straight welding joints. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Blood Flow Dynamics in Burns

    Författare :Robin Mirdell; Erik Tesselaar; Simon Farnebo; Folke Sjöberg; Paul Van Zuijlen; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : Objectives:Burns of intermediate thickness are hard to evaluate clinically. This often leads to unnecessary delays of up to 14 days before a surgical decision can be made. To counter this, several objective methods have been developed to determine the healing potential of the wound. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Quantitative methods for diffusion measurements in fluorescence microscopy

    Författare :Marco Longfils; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; cross-validation.; single particle tracking; Confocal laser scanning microscopy; raster scan; correlation spectroscopy; mixture models; diffusion;

    Sammanfattning : In this work, statistical methods are developed for mapping mass transport locally based on images collected using a confocal laser scanning microscope. Besides presenting raster image correlation spectroscopy as an established method in fluorescence microscopy, we introduce a single particle tracking method which takes advantage of the raster scanning of the image in a confocal microscope. 5. 25. Iterative Filtered Backprojection Methods for Helical Cone-Beam CT

    Författare :Johan Sunnegårdh; Michael Felsberg; Michel Defrise; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Iterative reconstruction; filtered backprojection; regularization; cone-beam CT; Medical engineering; Medicinsk teknik;

    Sammanfattning : State-of-the-art reconstruction algorithms for medical helical cone-beam Computed Tomography (CT) are of type non-exact Filtered Backprojection (FBP). They are attractive because of their simplicity and low computational cost, but they produce sub-optimal images with respect to artifacts, resolution, and noise. LÄS MER
