    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with optical spectroscopy and imaging of complex and strongly scattering turbid media. Focus is mainly placed on three topics, being i) diffuse optical spectroscopy of choroidal tumors, ii) gas spectroscopy in scattering materials using the GASMAS (gas in scattering media absorption spectroscopy) technique, and iii) luminescence diffuse optical imaging and tomography of tissues.     Sammanfattning : The dissociative and non-dissociative hydrogen uptake in carbon nanostructures and metallic films were investigated by measurements and analysis of solubility isotherms.     Sammanfattning : This thesis discusses the feasibility of a low emittance lattice proposed for the MAX-IV storage rings. The MAX-IV facility will have two storage rings that are identical but operated at two different energies, 1.5 GeV for soft X-ray and 3 GeV for hard X-ray production. LÄS MER
