  1. 21. Molecular electronic,  vibrational and rotational motion in optical and x-ray fields

    Författare :Sergey Gavrilyuk; Faris Gelmukhanov; Stephane Carniato; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; x-ray; nonlinear optics; photobleaching; recoil; anisotropy; Auger; Chemical physics; Kemisk fysik;

    Sammanfattning : The subject of this theoretical  study is the role ofelectronic structure as well as of rotational and vibrational motionson interactions between molecules and electromagnetic radiation,ranging from optical to x-ray. The thesis concerns both linear and nonlinear regimes of the light-matter interaction. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Measurement and prediction of dewatering characteristics for mechanical pulpsusing optical fibre analysis

    Författare :Lisa Nordin; Per Engstrand; Mattias O´Nils; Annikki Vehniäinen; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : On‐line measurement of relevant fibre and pulp characteristics is necessary in order to increase productivity and to maintain uniform quality. The drainage properties within the wire and the press section are important factors since they affect the dry content after the press section. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Modulation Properties of Vertical Cavity Light Emitters

    Författare :Renaud Stevens; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Semiconductor lasers; VCSEL; high-speed modulation; fibre optic networks; datacom; RCLED; plastic optical fibre;

    Sammanfattning : It is estimated that, between the year 2000 and 2003, thenumber of online Internet users will grow from 250 millions to500 millions. This growth results in rapidly increasing demandfor fibre-optic communication bandwidth, occurring at alllevels: from access and local area networks (LANs) tometro-area networks (MANs). LÄS MER

    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Micro-electromechanical systems MEMS ; nanotechnology; nanowires; microfabrication; tissue engineering; crack-lithography; direct writing; femtosecond lasers; two-photon polymerization; 3D micromachining; cavitation molding; scalable optical patterning; 2D materials; surface structuring; bacterial-surface interaction.; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Light is the primary source of energy on our planet and has been a significant driver in the evolution of human society and technology. Light finds applications in two-dimensional (2D) photolithography and three-dimensional (3D) printing, where a pattern is transferred to a material of interest by ultraviolet (UV) light exposure, and in laser scribing and cutting, where high power lasers are used to pattern the surface of objects or cut through the bulk of the material of interest. 5. 25. Free Clusters Studied by Synchrotron-Based X-ray Spectroscopy: From Rare Gases to Metals

    Författare :Sergey Peredkov; Synkrotronljusfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; supraconductors; magnetic resonance; relaxation; spectroscopy; magnetic and optical properties; rare-gas clusters; Condensed matter:electronic structure; electrical; metal clusters; photoemission; synchrotron radiation; core-level spectroscopy; Auger decay; XPS; nano-particles; free clusters; egenskaper elektriska; spektroskopi; magnetisk resonans; magnetiska och optiska ; supraledare; Kondenserade materiens egenskaper:elektronstruktur;

    Sammanfattning : The main topic of this Thesis is the x-ray spectroscopic studies of free nano-clusters with size more than 10^3 atoms. The photoelectron spectroscopy experiments on rare gas and metal clusters were performed at beamline I411 at MAX-lab National Swedish synchrotron radiation facility. Free rare-gas clusters are simplest objects in cluster research. LÄS MER
