1. Interacting particle systems for opinion dynamics: the Deffuant model and some generalizations
Sammanfattning : In the field of sociophysics, concepts and techniques taken from statistical physics are used to model and investigate some social and political behavior of a large group of humans: their social network is given by a simple graph and neighboring individuals meet and interact in pairs or small groups. Although most of the established models feature rather simple microscopic interaction rules, the macroscopic long-time behavior of the collective often eludes an analytical treatment due to the complexity, which stems from the interaction of the large system as a whole. 2. Opinion Dynamic Models of Decision-Making in Traffic
Sammanfattning : Autonomous vehicles (AVs) have the potential to improve both the efficiency and the safety of road traffic. Vehicles that can plan their routes, anticipate accidents and communicate open the door to transportation that is nearly free of human error. LÄS MER
3. Self-organization and Intervention of Nonlinear Multi-agent Systems
Sammanfattning : This dissertation concerns the self-organization behaviors in different types of multi-agent systems, and possible ways to apply interventions on top ofthat to achieve certain goals. A bounded confidence opinion dynamics modelis considered for the first two papers. LÄS MER
4. Frihetstidens politiska praktik : Nätverk och offentlighet 1746–1766
Sammanfattning : The dissertation deals with the organization of political practice in Sweden 1746–1766. It focuses on the clergy and how they mobilized political activities before and during the meetings of the Diet. LÄS MER
5. Consensus formation in the Deffuant model
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with a mathematical model used in the context of social interaction in large groups, introduced by Deffuant et al. in 2000. Each individual holds an opinion and shares it with others in random pairwise encounters. LÄS MER
