21. Optimisation of the slag formation in a blast furnace charged with 100% pellets
Sammanfattning : This work is based on experiences from industrial blast furnaces. Process irregularities when testing self-fluxed pellets Process disturbances when charging increased proportions of coarse pellets Laboratory tests to evaluate the effect of basic fluxes on the slag formation in the bosh and in the raceway have been carried out. 22. Influence of green pellet properties on pelletizing of magnetite iron ore
Sammanfattning : Magnetite iron ore green pellets are produced by balling moist concentrates to green pellets, which are then dried, oxidized to hematite, sintered, cooled and transported to steelmaking plants. The existing theory for balling is based on the capillary theory, but its applicability under industrial balling conditions is unclear. LÄS MER
23. Traces in Earth's geological record of the break-up of the L-chondrite parent body 470 Ma
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with signatures in sediments on Earth related to the L-chondrite parent body break-up event at 470 Ma. The aim of this thesis is twofold: (1) investigate if the increased flux of extraterrestrial material to Earth, following the disruption of the L-chondrite parent body included larger, asteroid-sized bodies (2) try to develop new methods and tools for finding and classifying relict cosmic material in sediments. 24. Fate of Trace Elements in Thermochemical Conversion of Waste Fuels Using Oxygen Carriers
Sammanfattning : The metals zinc, copper and lead are amongst the more abundant trace elements in waste fuels. The fate of these elements is important to study because they can affect the thermochemical conversion process and end up in ashes. LÄS MER
25. Alkali Metals and Tar in Biomass Thermochemical Conversion: Development and Application of Online Measurement Techniques
Sammanfattning : Biomass is a renewable resource that can substitute the fossil-based products we depend on today. However, the conversion techniques require further improvement in order to be competitive with the traditional industry. LÄS MER
