11. Crystal chemistry of Fe-Ti oxides in mafic rocks and metabasites: A study aimed at refinement of geological tools and interpretations
Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of four subprojects: (A) ‘Clouding of plagioclase by Fe-Ti oxides’, (B) ‘Fe-Ti oxides during high-pressure metamorphism of mafic rocks’, (C) ‘Magnetic study of Fe-Ti oxides in mafic rocks and metabasites’, and (D) ‘Topotactic phase transitions in oxide minerals’. A) In southern Sweden dolerite dikes and gabbros with clouded plagioclase are common. LÄS MER
12. Reactions at the water-mineral interface of olivine and silicate modified maghemite
Sammanfattning : The main objectives for this licentiate thesis have been to study and model the reactions at the water-mineral interface of two subsystems: maghemite-H+-silicate and olivine-H+. An increased knowledge of these systems will make it possible to further extend the complexity of the aqueous phase in future experiments. LÄS MER

14. Interactions between iron oxides and the additives olivine, quartzite and calcite in magnetite pellets
Sammanfattning : In the present study, magnetite pellets with the additives olivine, calcite and quartzite were isothermally reduced in a tubular furnace to study the interaction between iron oxides and the additives. Exaggerated amounts of additives were used in order to enable analyses of phases that do not otherwise occur in sufficient amounts for X-ray diffraction and EDS-analyses. LÄS MER
15. Interactions between iron oxides and the additives quartzite, calcite and olivine in magnetite-based pellets
Sammanfattning : In the present study, magnetite pellets with large amounts of the additives olivine, calcite and quartzite were isothermally reduced in a tubular furnace to study the interaction between iron oxides and the additives. A first attempt at using exaggerated amounts of additives was made in order to enable analyses of phases that do not otherwise occur in sufficient amounts for Xray diffraction and EDS-analyses.
