    Sammanfattning : This thesis is concerned with social stratification of psychosocial factors and social position measurement in population samples collected in mid-Sweden 2000-2006. Traditional resource-based measures of social position (occupation, education) and so far less explored prestige-based measures (subjective status, status incongruence) are tested with respect to their associations with psychosocial factors, emotions, and selfrated health.     Sammanfattning : Introduction: In the literature it is recognized that stroke can have lifelong consequences and that these consequences become evident in the occupations that constitute everyday life. With an increase in prevalence and in the number of stroke survivors returning to independent living there is a need to understand the challenges that may face stroke survivors, not just in a short perspective, but also in the chronic phase of stroke where new or different challenges may present in many areas of life.
