  1. 1. Passenger kinematics in evasive maneuvers

    Författare :Emma Larsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; volunteer kinematics; Active Human Body Model; pre-crash; active muscles; occupant variability; evasive maneuvers;

    Sammanfattning : In situations that might lead to a vehicle crash, drivers often perform an evasive maneuver, such as braking or steering, in an attempt to avoid a crash. If a crash was not avoided, the maneuver could influence the injury outcome by altering the occupant’s position. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Does spinal alignment influence car occupant responses? -The influence of variation in whole spinal alignment patterns on vertebral kinematics under rear impact conditions-

    Författare :Fusako Sato Sakayachi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; neck injury; rear impact; whiplash; occupant; female; cervical vertebral kinematics; MRI; Multi-Dimensional Scaling; automotive seated posture; spinal alignment;

    Sammanfattning : The susceptibility of women to Whiplash Associated Disorders (WADs) has been the focus of numerous epidemiologic studies. Summarising the epidemiologic WAD studies, women were found to be subject to up to three times higher risk of sustaining WADs than men. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The Contribution of Vehicle, Occupant and Other Factors to the Risk of Injury as a Result of Vehicle Rollover

    Författare :Stephen Ridella; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Intrusion; Kinematics; Injury Causation; Roof Inversions.; Rollover; CIREN; NASS-CDS; Restraints;

    Sammanfattning : Injuries and deaths as a result of vehicle rollover have been declining in recent years like other crash modes, but it still remains a consistently large contributor of the overall crash fatalities in the United States. Also, more new vehicles are becoming equipped with electronic stability control and are subject to new regulations that call for increased roof strength and countermeasures to prevent ejection during rollover crashes. 4. 4. Volunteer Kinematics and Muscle Activity in Dynamic Events Representative of Pre-crash Scenarios, Evaluation Data for Human Body Models

    Författare :Ghazaleh Ghaffari; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; EMG; volunteer; evasive manoeuvres; human body model; validation data; occupant kinematics; pre‐pretensioner belt; lane change; boundary conditions;

    Sammanfattning : Advanced integrated safety technologies in modern cars such as collision avoidance intervention and pre-crash activated restraint systems involve comprehensive research on how vehicle occupants respond to these systems in pre-crash situations. Human Body Models (HBMs) are mathematical tools developed to predict human responses and injury outcomes in different pre-crash and in-crash situations. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Pre-Crash and In-Crash Car Occupant Safety Assessment

    Författare :Alexandros Leledakis; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Crash Configurations; Advanced Driver Assistance Systems ADAS ; Human Body Model; Crashworthiness; Intersection crashes; Occupant postures; Real-world safety;

    Sammanfattning : Tens of millions are annually injured in Road Traffic Accidents (RTAs) worldwide, while the estimated number of RTA fatalities amounted to 1.35 million in 2016. In Europe, car occupants hold the largest share (48%) of fatalities among all road users. The high fatality and injury numbers motivate the work of enhancing road traffic safety. LÄS MER
