  1. 1. The Role of High-Level Reasoning and Rule-Based Representations in the Inverse Base-Rate Effect

    Författare :Pia Wennerholm; Koen Lamberts; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Psychology; inverse base-rate effect; rationality; human knowledge representations; exemplar-based models of categorization; eliminative inference; inference rules; rapid attention shifts; associations; Psykologi; Psychology; Psykologi; Psychology; psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : The inverse base-rate effect is the observation that on certain occasions people classify new objects as belonging to rare base-rate categories rather than common ones (e.g., D. L. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Manual Motor Development in Infancy : Execution and Observation of Actions

    Författare :Therese Ljunghammar Ekberg; Gustaf Gredebäck; Claes von Hofsten; Jeffrey J. Lockman; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Infancy; Motor development; Reaching; Actions; Motor prediction; Prospective motor control; Social cognition; Stereopsis; Mirror neuron system; Mu rhythm; Motor impairment; Autism Spectrum Disorder; High-risk siblings; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : Of all motor skills, manual reaching might be the one ability that matters most for infants’ perceptual, cognitive and social development. Reaching allows infants to learn about object properties, but also gives opportunities for socializing with others. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Predictive Eye Movements During Action Observation in Infancy : Understanding the Processes Behind Action Prediction

    Författare :Dorota Green; Gustaf Gredebäck; Claes von Hofsten; Bennet I. Bertenthal; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Action prediction; action understanding; eye movements; eye-tracking; culture; infnacy; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : Being able to predict the goal of other people’s actions is an important aspect of our daily lives. This ability allows us to interact timely with others and adjust our behaviour appropriately.The general aim of the present thesis was to explore which processes best explain our ability to predict other people’s action goals during development. 4. 4. Effect of timing training in golf and soccer players : skill, movement organization, and brain activity

    Författare :Marius Sommer; Louise Rönnqvist; Charlotte Häger; Nicola Hodges; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Motor timing; rhythmicity; timing training; golf shot; golf swing; kinematics; precision; variability; coordination; movement dynamics; soccer; fMRI; mirror neurons; action observation; cerebellum; perception - action.; Psychology; psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : Background Although trainers and athletes consider ‘good timing skills’ to be critical for optimal sport performance, little is known in regard to how sport-specific skills may benefit from timing training. Thus, assuming that all motor performances are mediated by an internal timing mechanism, enhanced motor timing is expected to have positive effects on both planning and execution of movement performance, and consequently on complex sports actions as golf or soccer. 5. 5. Emotional interplay and communication with patients diagnosed with schizophrenia

    Författare :Helena Fatouros Bergman; Gunilla Preisler; Andrzej Werbart; Bent Rosenbaum; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Schizophrenia; communication; affects; EMFACS; gaze; video observation; nonverbal; Psychology; Psykologi; psykologi; Psychology;

    Sammanfattning : Emotional interplay and communication with patients diagnosed with schizophrenia was studied in clinical interviews. Fifty-one video recorded interviews were conducted by two psychologists with nine patients. Qualitative and quantitative methods were used in three successive studies. LÄS MER
