  1. 1. Learning Object Properties From Manipulation for Manipulation

    Författare :Püren Güler; Danica Kragic; Jeremy L. Wyatt; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; robotics; manipulation; object properties; simulation; machine learning; object tracking; active exploration; sensory integration; Computer Science; Datalogi;

    Sammanfattning : The world contains objects with various properties - rigid, granular, liquid, elastic or plastic. As humans, while interacting with the objects, we plan our manipulation by considering their properties. For instance, while holding a rigid object such as a brick, we adapt our grasp based on its centre of mass not to drop it. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Optional rhemes and omitted undergoers : An event structure approach to implicit objects in Swedish

    Författare :Johanna Prytz; Cecilia Falk; Ida Larsson; Marit Julien; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; implicit objects; object omission; null objects; object drop; objectless sentences; pseudo-transitive; non-core transitive; transitivity; Swedish; event structure; argument structure; the syntax-semantic interface; implicita objekt; objektsutelämning; nollobjekt; objektslösa satser; pseudotransitiva verb; transitivitet; eventstruktur; argumentstruktur; Scandinavian Languages;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to define the essential syntactic-semantic properties of three types of objectless sentences in present-day Swedish. The three types of objectless sentences are labeled descriptively as follows: Implicit Object Read type (IOR) with pseudo-transitive verbs like läsa ‘read’; Implicit Object Open type (IOO), which involves various sets of transitive verbs like öppna ‘open’ and bära ‘carry’; and Implicit Object Kill type (IOK), which typically involves destruction verbs like döda ‘kill’. 3. 3. On Model Libraries for Thermo-hydraulic Applications

    Författare :Jonas Eborn; Institutionen för reglerteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; modeling; simulation; Matematik; Automation; Termisk teknik; control systems; nonlinear models; parameter estimation; proces s control; thermo-hydraulic systems; model validation; Thermal engineering; applied thermodynamics; termodynamik; Automatiska system; robotics; control engineering; reglerteknik; robotteknik; Mathematics; object-oriented;

    Sammanfattning : Mathematical modelling and simulation are important tools when dealing with engineering systems that today are becoming increasingly more complex. Tightly integrated production and process optimization are trends that give rise to heterogeneous systems, which are difficult to handle without expertise in several engineering disciplines. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Spatial Vision in Bees : Behavioural investigation of spatial resolution and contrast sensitivity

    Författare :Aravin Chakravarthi; Funktionell zoologi; []
    Nyckelord :Insect vision; Honeybees; Bumblebees; Spatial resolution; Contrast sensitivity; Motion detection; Object discrimination;

    Sammanfattning : Bees use multiple sensory modalities to perform day-to-day tasks. Light allows them to perceive objects and the general features of their surroundings, enabling them to find food and to navigate safely across the landscape. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Dangers in sport parachuting

    Författare :Anton Westman; Ulf Björnstig; Inggard Lereim; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Sport parachuting; skydiving; BASE jumping; injury; risk factors; epidemiology.; Surgery; Kirurgi; Surgery; kirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : Background Sport parachuting is a dangerous recreational activity for which available literature appears unsatisfactory to form a basis for injury prevention. Aim Overall: Explore some risk factors in sport parachuting. Study I: Identify fatal incident and injury mechanisms for skydiving (sport parachuting from aircraft). LÄS MER
