1. Ultrafast spin, lattice, and electron dynamics in thin metallic films : in the terahertz, near-infrared, and extreme ultraviolet regimes
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, we studied the ultrafast spin and electron dynamics triggered by electromagnetic radiation belonging to three different regions of the electromagnetic spectrum, namely terahertz, near-infrared and extreme ultraviolet. By performing pump–probe measurements, we explored the role of the lattice in ultrafast spin and electron dynamics in metallic thin films. LÄS MER
2. Terahertz spin dynamics in metallic thin film ferromagnets
Sammanfattning : The past two decades have witnessed an increasing interest in understanding and controlling materials at the pico- and femtosecond time scales, the so-called ultrafast regime. Among the broad field of condensed matter physics, magnetism and magnetic materials have attracted much interest both from a fundamental and an applied perspective. LÄS MER
3. Radiofrequenz-Pulse in der lokalisierten STEAM-Spektroskopie
Sammanfattning : By definition, radiofrequency (RF) pulses are the pivotal elements of NMR pulse sequences. Vice versa, the effect of a particular pulse on the evolution of magnetization will depend on the context of the sequence. LÄS MER
4. Experimental Techniques for Studies in Atomic & Molecular Physics
Sammanfattning : This thesis is based on a selection of six different experimental techniques used for studies in atomic and molecular physics. The techniques analysed in the thesis are compared to find similarities in strategies and ways to avoid sources of error.Paper 1 deals with collision based spectroscopy with 60 keV Xe6+ ions on sodium and argon gas targets. 5. Attitude and Trajectory Estimation for Small Suborbital Payloads
Sammanfattning : Sounding rockets and small suborbital payloads provide a means for research in situ of the atmosphere and ionosphere. The trajectory and the attitude of the payload are critical for the evaluation of the scientific measurements and experiments. LÄS MER
