    Sammanfattning : Background: Cardiac surgery is considered safe, but postoperative delirium (POD) remains frequently reported. Delirium is characterised by fluctuations in consciousness and cognition, and can be subdivided into disturbed psychomotoric activity (hyperactive and hypoactive) and psychiatric symptom profiles (psychotic and emotional).
