  1. 1. Modelling of Concrete Structures Subjected to Blast and Fragment Loading

    Författare :Ulrika Nyström; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; dynamisk belastning; fiberarmerad betong; materialmodellering; numeriska studier; splitter; stötvåg; Betong;

    Sammanfattning : Betong är tack vare sin låga kostnad och sitt stora användningsområde ett av de mest använda byggmaterialen i modern tid. Dess stora energiabsorberande förmåga vid höga tryck, samt det sega beteende betongkonstruktioner har vid väl utformad armering, gör betongen också lämplig i skyddande konstruktioner. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Neurocognitive Foundations of Child and Adult Number Processing : Neural Correlates and Functional Circuits Across Typical Development

    Författare :Mikael Skagenholt; Ulf Träff; Kenny Skagerlund; Karin Kucian; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Numerical cognition; fMRI; Triple code model; Cardinality; Ordinality; Functional connectivity; Development; Numerisk kognition; fMRI; Kardinalitet; Ordinalitet; Utveckling;

    Sammanfattning : The ability to mentally represent the exact numerosity of up to four perceived objects, as well as approximately estimating differences in numerical magnitude, appears to constitute a core-cognitive number sense. Symbolic representations of number (e.g. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Modelling strategies for thin imperfect interfaces and layers

    Författare :Mathieu Gaborit; Peter Göransson; Olivier Dazel; Lucie Rouleau; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; uncertainties; thin layers; numerical methods; simplified models; poroelastic materials; incertitudes; couches fines; méthodes numeriques; modèles simplifiés; matériaux poroélastiques; osäkerheter; tunna lager; numeriska metoder; förenklade modeller; poroelastiska medier; Engineering Mechanics; Teknisk mekanik;

    Sammanfattning : The global trend towards quieter environments has been one of the key topics of acoustics research for years. The recent tightening of the regulations on noise exposure as well as the many reports on the impact of noise on human health confirm this situation and stress ever more the need for innovative mitigation strategies. 4. 4. Conceptualizing and Measuring Well-Being Using Statistical Semantics and Numerical Rating Scales

    Författare :Oscar Kjell; Institutionen för psykologi; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Well-being; Latent semantic analysis; Statistical semantics; Satisfaction with life; Harmony in life; Välbefinnande; Harmoni i livet; Tillfredsställelse med livet; Statistisk semantik; Latent semantisk analys;

    Sammanfattning : How to define and measure individuals’ well-being is important, as this has an impact on both research and society at large. This thesis concerns how to define and measure the self-reported well-being of individuals, which involves both theorizing as well as developing and applying empirical and statistical methods in order to gain a better understanding of well-being. 5. 5. Toward Realistic Failure Evaluations for Concrete Buttress Dams

    Författare :Jonas Enzell; Anders Ansell; Erik Nordström; Andreas Sjölander; Richard Malm; Leif Lia; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; concrete dams; buttress dams; stability analysis; dam failure behavior; physical model tests; FEM; betongdammar; lamelldammar; stabilitetsanalys; dammbrott; fysiska modellförsök; FEM; Betongbyggnad; Concrete Structures;

    Sammanfattning : Concrete dams, complex structures supporting massive loads, have traditionally been assessed using simplified 2D analytical stability analyses based on the rigid body assumption. Previous studies have shown that 3D behavior, such as the interaction between the monoliths and the valley's geology, can greatly impact the load-bearing capacity of gravity dams but remains largely unexplored in buttress dams.
