  1. 1. Experimental and Numerical Multi-port Eduction for Duct Acoustics

    Författare :Stefan Sack; Abom Mats; Phillip Joseph; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; acoustics; aeroacoustics; flowacoustics; multi-ports; orifice; silencer; experiment; numeric; IDDES; LNSE; optimization; test rig; Monte Carlo; Teknisk mekanik; Engineering Mechanics;

    Sammanfattning : Sound generation and propagation in circular ducts for frequencies beyond the cut-on frequencies of several higher order acoustic modes is investigated. To achieve this, experimental and numerical set-ups are designed and used to research aeroacoustic interactions between in-duct components and to conceive noise mitigation strategies. LÄS MER

  2. 2. MaMiS : A Programming Environment for Numeric/Symbolic Data Processing

    Författare :Peter A. J. Nagy; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Scheme; MATLAB; MACSYMA; Numeric symbolic data processing;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis describes a programming environment (called MaMiS - MATLAB and MACSYMA in Scheme) for symbolic/numeric data processing. This programming environment is based on three main parts:Scheme, a symbol manipulating language (a LISP dialect)MATLAB, a program for numeric scientific calculationsMACSYMA, a program for formula manipulationsA fourth part is added to MaMiS, the text editor DNU Emacs, which is used as an interface between the user and Scheme. 3. 3. From Machine Arithmetic to Approximations and back again : Improved SMT Methods for Numeric Data Types

    Författare :Aleksandar Zeljic; Philipp Ruemmer; Christoph M. Wintersteiger; Yi Wang; Armin Biere; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SMT; Model construction; Approximations; floating-point arithmetic; machine arithmetic; bit-vectors; Computer Science; Datavetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Safety-critical systems, especially those found in avionics and automotive industries, rely on machine arithmetic to perform their tasks: integer arithmetic, fixed-point arithmetic or floating-point arithmetic (FPA). Machine arithmetic exhibits subtle differences in behavior compared to the ideal mathematical arithmetic, due to fixed-size representation in memory. LÄS MER

  4. 4. The impact of cormorant nesting colonies on plants and arthropods

    Författare :Gundula S. Kolb; Peter Hambäck; Lenn Jerling; Post David; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; seabirds; cormorants; islands; nitrogen; phosphorus; plants; arthropods; δ15N; Baltic Sea; ecological stoichiometry; species richness; species composition; numeric response; Biology; Biologi; Plant Ecology; växtekologi;

    Sammanfattning : Seabirds concentrate large amounts of marine nutrients on their nesting islands. This nutrient input can have large consequences for island food webs and community structure. The high nutrient load may also cause runoff into surrounding waters and affect marine communities. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Mother, how are you? : Studies on self-rated health and childbirth experience

    Författare :Frida Viirman; Anna Wikman; Susanne Hesselman; Agneta Skoog Svanberg; Inger Sundström Poromaa; Mirjam Lukasse; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Self-rated health; SRH; Small for Gestational Age; SGA; Preterm; Stillbirth; Pregnancy; Childbirth; Labour; Delivery; Childbirth Experience; Psychological Birth Trauma; Visual Analogue Scale; VAS; Numeric Rating Scale; NRS; Single-item; Childbirth Experience Questionnaire; CEQ 2; Midwifery; Medicinsk vetenskap; Medical Science;

    Sammanfattning : Pregnancy and childbirth are characterised by emotional and physical changes, which can affect the mother’s mental health postpartum, as well as the infant. One step towards alleviating adverse consequences is to measure health status and childbirth experience. LÄS MER
